I am sorry that you feel slighted because the item was made in China ....

That is not all all what I said, or implied. If you were to carefully re-read what I said, that would become obvious to you.

"I do however agree to slamming a product for being unsafe".

Fine, then slam it for being unsafe, not for being from China, which was my original point.

"I think you are taking the issue of origin far more serious than the fact that the mod is unsafe buddy".

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you just read what I said too quickly, and didn't grasp what I was saying. Nowhere have I said that I have any problem whatsoever with a product just because it happens to be made in China. Where you even got that notion is beyond me ..... buddy.

You can quit being so defensive now you seem like you are looking for a reason to pick a fight. I didnt originally post the comment about it being from china so just chilll and have a friendly sicussion no need to add a snotty tone.

I didnt mean the part about origin the way you took it. I meant I think you are taking the comment about it being from China a bit more serious than the fact that it is unsafe. Not that you took issue with it being from China. Sorry if that was unclear I have atendency to scramble to type as fast as the thoughts flow from my mind and sometimes it gets lost in the translation :D ... anywho have a good evening.

I was all set to just say "no worries" and move on, until that line caught my eye. Must have skipped over it on first read. The rest of your reply, while not wholely satisfying, was at least relatively benign.

Civilly responding to someone who has mangled my words is not "picking a fight". As for "you can quit being so defensive now", I'll quit trying to make you comprehend what I've said in this thread when I feel like it.

I'm a pretty reasonable guy, but you're getting in my face a hell of a lot more than I'm getting in yours, and I wouldn't mind seeing you back off.

You're right you didnt start it, coming off like a .... in your response to me countering portions of my statement as if we were debating and shining me on at the end with the trailing ..... buddy. Knock that chip off your shoulder ... buddy.

I'm glad you agree that it is an unsafe device. We can agree on that.

As for the China thing...... yes I do have a few issues with China made. They are not noted for their highbrow quality control. It's bad enough when we have melting ego batteries, which is not that uncommon, but now they have moved into a whole new level with what is widely considered to be the most dangerous type of APV which is a tube with stacked unprotected batteries. As far as I can see it has no safety features as in short circuit protection, thermal protection, overload protection, etc. It's hard to tell on that as there is so little actually information on it. Seeing as some venders are selling it for very cheap tells me the safety features are not there.

Having said that I would have the same issues no matter where it was made. The made in China things is a minor fact as far as I'm concerned that was an off the cuff statement on my part, though the point of origin doesn't lend any confidence to the WOO.

So a Chinese manufacture is going to make it. That's fine. Who am I to tell them they can't. I do have to ask how irresponsible is it that US venders are actually selling this pipe bomb. The venders I have seen are showing no warnings on the possible dangers of this type of APV. No advice on precautions to take, etc.

Anything for a buck.......

Again, words are being put in my mouth. I don't think I've categorically said "it is an unsafe device". Not everything is either a) safe or b) unsafe. Life is full of calculated risks, often untaken when the benefits might possibly outweigh those risks, and ideally, with eyes wide open.

I keep seeing reviewers on YouTube talking about the sticking button issue and saying that they don't see it as "a big deal", but as I said, I intend to find out for myself. Before I use it, I'm going to see if I can fit protected batteries into it, and then tape the button down repeatedly - outdoors, and from a safe distance - to observe what happens. After a careful analysis of what is occurring, or not occuring, and why, including what protection the electronics offer, if any, I might just try a couple of toots on it with around a 3.0 ohm carto and see it vapes. That would be about 8 1/3 watts, and would let me use up some cartos that my Joyetech eGo or Smoktech e-Power 14650 won't motivate.

SmokTech 5V WOW from GGecigs.net - YouTube

Review of COV WOW mod.wmv - YouTube

And for the record, my mirror told me that I was the fairest of them all, so I think that settles that.
