I'm not ready to go out and get one right now but have always wondered why kayfun tanks have such a following.
Little back story is I tried a disposable a few years back with poor results. Didn't really try anything else until about 8 months ago. I got a lot of my early advice from coworkers that were into low ohm high power setups. I followed their recommendations and liked the results but I don't feel like it's replacing analogs for me. Also I kinda feel like I missed out on moving up the ladder. Egos, mtl, flavor devices... I got a joyetech aio a while back and it doesn't do much for me.
I have read so much praise of kayfuns and have been curious what the hype is about. I know there are a lot of versions. Are some better for different things? Are they primarily mtl? Is there something else I might want to check out? With what they cost I wouldn't want to get one and not like it.

i had a kayfun... it was better than what i had prior but nothing compared to what i have now... i want to say kayfun was my first rebuildable. of course i had to also purchase the peek insulator for higher temp and wider bore air flow, even then it is nothing compared to my griffin's (22,25,25+) I suppose its not a bad starter tank.

Exclusively MTL except the K5.

They are very well constructed. Top materials and impeccable fit/finish IME.

Also, replacement parts are available almost everywhere.... glass, o-rings, insulators, bell caps, chimneys... you name it.

Great vape but MTL mainly with a tight draw.

Downside? Fairly small build deck and PITA bottom filling (on most models). And expensive.

Not starter tanks at all as they are expensive.

They are the gold standard rebuildable MTL RTA IMO.

I use Griffins and KFV8's more often than my 3 authentic and 5 clone KFL+ tanks these days, but I still love my Kayfuns.

I was thinking about a clone. I've tried to close the air flow and use a smaller drip tip on a couple of my sub ohm dl tanks but don't think that's giving me the best mtl experience. When I was looking for my first setup a local shop was going out of business. They had supposedly authentic v2 & v3 (don't remember which but one was lite) for well under $20. I was going to buy both just because they were so cheap and wishing I had.

They aren't authentic. Anything under about $55US is almost certainly a clone.

Some clones are great. I own 5 Ehpro KFL+ tanks that were $5 each and they are almost as good as my $70 authentics. Don't look as pretty, but vape very close.

i had the Kayfun V4 it was ok, the clones would be the obvious choice as a starter not payin for the original. I also had a few steamcraves those were better than the kayfuns ive had quite a few and cannot recall especially the ones not worth mentioning. Starter because they are not huge builds which require more coil more power more clouds. Starter because of the tighter draw on them.

kfun was my first serious rta, had many clones, 12 or so.
If you want DL vape, try the monster base at Fasttech. Compares favorably with any of todays modern rtas.
The v3 mini clone ss316 at Angelcigs is steller DL performer, Open the airflow.TOP FILL too.
Kfuns are single coil, should be used at about .8 to 1.2 ohm builds.
Beginner? Hardly..

I only MTL and for me the Kayfun v5 is the perfect RTA. No leaking, amazing flavor and the easiest build deck I ever used. All parts are readily available. I own nine clones and every one is just flawless. To me this is why the Kayfun is so popular. With the MTL kit and other authentic parts all fitting seamlessly my search for the perfect tank is over.

For MTL vaping, if you want to try a Kayfun, get yourself a 'Kayfun Lite-Plus V2' clone.

Here is a very good quality clone for less than 20 bucks:

$18.82 Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Styled Rebuildable Tank Atomizer (4.5ml) - stainless steel / w/ nano chamber & chimney at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I have had them in my rotation ever since I got one as a first rebuildable. They are a bit forgiving, an easier deck to build on and many alternate parts to customize them.

I have used many others and the initial familiarization was never as quick. It just seemed to work well right out of the gate. I don't think I ever bought an original Kayfun since the first one worked so well.

I see toppers for having multiple considerations and the Kayfun is up there in a lot of areas. Not perfect, but just an all-around good topper.

I use the KF V5 and KF Mini V3 right now and I am comfortable to take them without thinking of having difficulty. I just drove across the country and I used them without problem. I re-wicked 3 and had 3 flavors and they just worked without issue.

Just an easy, no problems, topper.

As to clones, there are good ones and some not so good. Weeding through them all to find the best brand is the trick. Just reading reviews, discussions, and comments makes all the difference.

Agreed. My Kayfun clone doesnt leak. The flavor is good i paid $5.43 for mine at Fasttech.

The reason Kayfun.

Rebuildable. You are in Control of your vaping experience instead of Someone in China

Exceptional flavor in its day. And quite good now.

Versatility. You can use the metal Tank that holds 4.5 ml. Switch to tge M Tank either polycarbonate or acrylic to get the same amount of Juice in the tank but reduce the weight. Move down to a bell cap that holds 2.5 or 3 ml to get away fron tge metal top cap to shave even more weight. One ECF member extended the chimney and put a rounded bell cap on top of his M Tank abd his Kayfun held almost 9 mls of Juice. Don't like Mouth to Lung vaping get the Kayfun Monster Mini V3 base and put it under the rest of tge Kayfun and direct lung vape to your hesrts content.

The reason i use a Kayfun is i'm a Prepper and if the deeming regulations are allowed to stand most vape gear could dissappear.

With Kayfun i can get enough parts for them where i can build one from scratch if necessary.

Peek insulator
Base.
Spare screws
Spare O rings
Ball caps
510 PIN
Drip tip.
Screw for fill port
Barrel
Chimney or nano chimney

That is why i use Kayfun attys

I have a stupid little bell cap that came on my stupid little $5.43 Kayfun. I use it every day for 13-14 months. It still works well and doesnt leak.

I take it apart every few days to re wick the coil or a complete Rebuild. I wasn't expecting the threads on the acrylic bell cap to last over a month of two.

I only got this stupid little Atty because of an incident where i almost killed my Silverplay Nano on the bus. I intended to vape my Kayfun out and about and silverplay in the evening. And if i killed my Kayfun replace a $1.69 bell cap and keep going.

Shortly after i got this the threads on the Two piece chimney stripped of my Goblin Mini.

I was satisfied with the Kayfun i put the Silverplay Nano in my Vapocalpse stash.

Then the FDA pulled their stunt and I realized i would need spare parts abd there were NO spare parts available for Goblin Mini or Silverplay Nano.

You can see my Kayfun in my avatar.

I have turned @oplholik @misswish1 and others onto this little beastie

With a Kayfun a few spare parts you can keep a Kayfun going almost forever.

But closing i think versatility, and availabiliy of spare parts, abd a relatively easy to build is why there are so many Kayfun fans.

They`r easy. They`r simple, and they are, really easy. Most folks grow out of them but for the beginner trying to find out where he likes his vape, they provide one of the most basic platforms to learn how to build and wick and they do produce good flavor. Some people find nirvana with them, and many use what they learn from them to branch out into dual coils and than higher wattage tanks and RDA`s. I used a KFL for aprox. 6 months before I went on to a Fogger and then started in with RDA`s where I have all but stayed for the last 2 years.

BOL. :?)

The Kayfun clone i bought 3 years ago is still in daily use. Cost me about $15 dollars back then, probably around $7-9 now. Ideal for when you need to dial back the vapour.
Easy to build, cheap spares all over the place, customisable, restricted airflow with good flavour, robust, reliable.
An ideal tank for anyone vaping at 8-20w with a 1-2 ohm coil.
Even though i use DL tanks a lot, the Kayfun is still my daily out and about device...

If you MTL, definitely try a KFL, won't set you back that much, especially if you get the parts from FT.
$4.64 Replacement Base for Kayfun Lite Five Pawns - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping $4.64
$1.69 Replacement Acrylic Bell Cap for Kayfun Mini RTA Atomizer at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping $1.69
$1.78 Replacement Chimney Base / Graffix Tube for Kayfun v3.1 ES / Kayfun Lite - w/ ohm logo at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping $1.78
$1.10 Replacement Chimney Cap for Kayfun Lite Five Pawns - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping $1.10

So, as you see, there are replacement parts for cheap. Some parts you can get in 5 packs.
If you can find a sale on a full s/u, try it, and if you like it, go for some replacement parts. Good luck. :)

Here are a couple of mine put together from FT parts. I have four others in use also.

Kay-Funs are good tanks :) Sure better tanks are out there, if you like bigger clouds, more Air flow, dual coils. Svoemesto is the father of the RTA! He is responsible for most of the innovations we see on all RTA's today. If you get a Kay-Fun & build it right! You will have a tank that performs well for it's intended use. :) Thats more than can be said for a lot of other tank manufactures :)

Try a cloned Kay-fun before dropping serious $$$ on a authentic. The KFL plus v2 from EHpro is an excellent clone to just try one out. If you prefer top fill, then try a Tobeco v4 perhaps.
There are tons of parts and mods to personalize them, in fact I have a box full of just Kay-fun parts and still use several in my daily rotation.
