I'm just curious -- why are there no automatic eGo's or mods? Why do people prefer manual? I'm waiting for my kGo to come in, but so far only had experience with automatic disposables and a V2, and the automatic part didn't seem to be a problem.

One reason would be that the auto batts have an airflow passage ( hole) at the end of the battery and if juice gets into it from overdripping/filling, it ruins the battery by clogging up the air flow sensor.
Another reason is you have better control of what kind of vape you want with the manual type batt.

There are a couple of bigger battery units that are auto, http://www.cignot.com/product_p/ego-bat-abl.htm, other places have them as well. But as bacc.vap points out in the post above, there are advantages to manuals.
Good question. After 3 months, I recently bought a Reva that has the manual button. Once I got used to it, it was no problem. I never understood why the two options.
Juice leaking into the battery is the main issue. You will get used to using the button. It gives you a better experience.

The only manual I have ever used is my usb passthrough and I still can not get used to it. As far as leaking, I learned to be extra careful refilling. I currently use a large vGo 808 auto that is sealed, so no problem. Maybe I'll give a manual one a try someday. It never hurts to continually expand and diversify.
You get more control. Also, you don't want to use auto batteries with dripping or tanks.
If you really want an auto, kgo style battery, look at the smokeless image x2 for a second battery, it's the same as a kgo except it has 808 threads, which would work with your v2 carts. The x2 comes in three sizes, 650mah,900 mah and 1300mah. And is available in automatic

To add to the advantages of the manual over the auto that have already been given, every or almost every auto battery also has a "cutoff" for how long you can inhale. There is no "cutoff" with manuals. You can start to warm or heat the eliquid even before you inhale, providing warmer vapor.
And no primer puffs! and no, 'oh, beans, my auto batt went off in my pocket and now its dead.'

Also, if you're using certain tank systems (only experienced it with a 901-T, but it seems a carto tank would be similar) the only way to activate it is to draw pretty hard, and it takes so long (about a second) for the battery to activate and start heating the coil that by then you'll have sucked juice all the way through to the mouth piece.
And they seem to be less reliable, probably from juice leaking.

I've got a couple that are handy for hands free use, but the manual is nicer for most use.
I've got 1 auto and I use it solely for smokers that are interested in Vaping. If their interest is peaked I then loan them a Kgo/ manual. Of all my friends and converts only 2 prefer the auto prolly cuz they were very light smokers.
