You can argue that a kayfun or other rRDA takes care of that but I think the percentage of people who can actually build a kayfun is low. I know I tried 6 times and still tastes like burnt cotton (close to giving up.)

Not exactly what this thread is about, but, I quit trying to use cotton in my EHPRO kayfun lite plus and tobeco mini after I watched this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eareL32_-7s. It fixed the problems I was having. :) :vapor:

Sorry for the interruption folks, carry on. :)

Repost with pics:

Here are a couple of examples of my VTR setup without modding the VTR.

First if you are NOT comfortable with the mechanics of taking apart your VTR please do not try any of this.
The SS screws are very tiny and I have no idea where to get replacements or how to repair the threads if cross threaded.

I do not have the link but there is a thread on ECF where the guy has pictures of taking one apart. All of the parts listed are from Fasttech but I am sure similar devices can be found elsewhere.

I chose not to mod my VTR (by sanding or removing the ring) so......

Using a T6 torx: WLXY WL2013-T6 Torx Precision Screwdriver
WL2013-T6, Torx T6 / SKU: 1205006 $2.48

1. I remove the 2 SS screws fron the top of the VTR.
2. Also remove the 2 SS screws on the side close to the top button (carefull these are VERY tiny.)
3. With a little bit of wiggling the top section of the VTR will lift up, be carefull not to lift to high or quickly as there is a small wire attached which may tear. You only need to lift it about 1/4in.

For a Genny experience I have used:

Steam Turbine Genesis Style Rebuildable Atomizer (3.0mL)
Stainless Steel / SKU: 1479600 $12.93

But I did get some leaking from sitting with it in my back pocket when out and about.

I do like the Kayfun experience for the vape quality and no leaking in my pocket so now I am using:

Kayfun Lite Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5mL) converted to a nano;
Kayfun Lite, PMMA / SKU: 1651401 $12.87

Kayfun Nano Body Kit
Kayfun Nano Kit, Stainless Steel (3 Pieces) / SKU: 1649900 $5.19

Replacement Tank Section for Kayfun 3.1 / Kayfun Lite
Tank Section, Blue / SKU: 1644301 $1.18

I did have issues with the top piece where the drip tip goes into. the small chimney tube did not go into it far enough to screw down all the way so I used the one from...

Spare Parts for Kayfun v3.1 Atomizer
Spare Parts, PMMA(for Kayfun v3.1) / SKU: 1570900 $5.12

After installing the RBA into the 510 simply re-position the VTR top back ( it should sit in the same place it came from with very little effort) and screw it together, the screws should turn in easily and only feel tight when seated all the way in. Do not crank on them they only should be snug so they do not come out by themselves.
I recomend doing this part on a large table so when you drop a screw you can find it!

After three pv's this year (RIP CANA clone 6/10/14-6/19/14) and a Vamo V5 that is loose around the middle the VTR is my old faithfull. Highly versatile, bombproof, works well on .8ohm rba's, various tanks, my kfl and anything else I throw on it. Not as good overall as a working 30w device but the screen looks a lot like an sx350's so i'm wondering if that may be an option down the road.

If you want one shop around- I've seen them as low as 55$ and as high as 119.00.

I take it that your kayfun can be filled from the side?

Hijack,

My side filling KL is too tall so I bought a cheapo KFL to try this. It fills from the bottom screw so I have to remove it to fill. Once you do this a few times it only takes minutes and it really is easy. My only worry is losing a screw.

fyi... FT just listed a KF nano glass kit for $4.60, ordered! I hope it fits lol, no juice limitations!

A little off sublect but I thought I'd share this;
I was in a smoke filled casino tonight carrying my VTR and a security guard comes up to me and says "sir, you can't have that in here." I held it up and said "this?" He stares at it then questions what is that? So I told him an electronic varorizer, E-cig.....etc. Then he laughs and tells me he thought it was a flask and apologizes. I have been questioned often about my devices but a flask? that was a first.

Wow you can smoke in a casino! Not here in the UK. Its not good when you are in a poker match and you have to go outside to have a vape every hour during the 10min break.

Huge VTR fan here! I have waaaaaay to many mods (VAMOs, MVPs, multiple mechs, E-LVT and a Transformer among others) but the VTR gets used at least 90% of the time.

Had mine since the latter part of last year and it's had a rough life, LOL! It's been dropped quite a bit - on concrete multiple times, out of the truck, knocked off of tables, you name it. It takes a beating and just keeps on working great.

The chrome isn't as thick as say that on a Harley, but it's definitely a very quality coating. Mine is starting to wear through to the brass in a few spots, and some scratches have gone all the way through, but it's tough as nails.

I love the heft of it. You definitely know if you walk off without it in your pocket. I can toss it in a pocket, disc golf bag, motorcycle tank bag or saddle bag and not worry about whether or not it's going to get damaged.

While it isn't as smooth as a mech or MVP, it's still a decent vape.

The only complaint I have is that it can't be used with a Kayfun, Nautilus, or similar without modifying the ring. I've been on the lookout for a decent used one at a ridiculously cheap price. If one can be found, I'm going to modify the ring with a disc brake hone to fit a Kayfun or Nautlius.

All said, this is the mod that fits my lifestyle the best.
