I just got one today. I own a Nemesis and a Chi You already and I have to say I am very impressed with the Kamry. The switch works great, Built solid and is one of the few telescoping mods that I don't hate the look of. Super easy to set up. You see a lot of posts about the Neme and the Chi You etc, why do you not hear more about this very affordable well built mod? Don't get me wrong, I'm not throwing out my Nemesis any time soon, but this is really a great mod and available for a reasonable price. More people getting into mechs should at least consider it. The locking ring and switch are what really floor me though, pretty well done for a cheap mod. For those that have them I would ask what size carto do you put in it, if you use it that way? I bought mine used and he didn't have the carto with it.

I've had a Kamry K100 for almost a year now and it's been great. Never let me down and it has been my most used PV since I got it. I clean it with a alcohol wipe of all threads and contact surfaces once a month (if I remember ;)), lube the big threads with a bit of Noalox and it's good to go. The floating pin is great and the voltage drop is fine. I've dropped it a few times and had the top part with the 510 connection move a bit once. I put a piece of wood on it and a hammer fixed it. I could use it as a defensive weapon if I had to, you know that 'blunt instrument' people talk about on TV shows. I strongly suspect it would make a difference in the fight ;)

I have a Nemesis clone that I prefer the look of, but it is not as dependable as the K100. It has stopped firing for me a couple of times and I've only had it since December last year.

It does have a hard switch spring, but you get used to that and I suspect it could be changed if it bothered someone. IMO the only reasons it is not more appreciated are its looks and it is perceived as cheap in a bad way.

Sorry SD, I didn't answer this in my first post . I always put RBAs or RDAs on mine. If you're going to use a carto on it you can use any size with 510 threads. The more important thing for your vaping experience will be the resistance of the carto. Unless you're using a Kick I would use 1.5 ohms. That will give you around 10 watts on a fresh battery down to around 8 watts when you change the battery

I am assuming you know how to stay safe with a mechanical mod. Just a couple of basics just in case. You need to be using IMR or hybrid Li-ion batts, not ICR even if they are protected cells. Those are the ones that will burn when they vent. Be careful not to short the battery. It is unlikely a carto will have a short, but it has happened. You can put a 2 cent fuse in the K100 and that will keep you safe from shorts without hurting the performance any. Don't let the battery discharge too far or you'll destroy it. I would recommend you get a DMM if you don't have one yet. It will allow you to check carto resistance, your battery voltage so you know when to charge it and allow you to trouble shoot any problems you may have.

Also, do not screw down the battery really tight. That can lead to the mod auto-firing. I just snug up on the battery and back off a quarter turn.

The only thing I dislike about mine is the diameter at the top. Don't really care for the angle, would rather have it be vertical the whole way.

OK, this I agree with. An Igo-L looks a little odd on it. I wish it was just a tad wider without the bevel. Nimbus looks good though.

I always thought the K100 did get a lot of love, I hear it referenced quite frequently. It has a good reputation for performance, and while I love mechs, I personally can't get into the K100 (*whispers softly* I think its ..ugly) But so many folks really seem to love it.

That's legit. Taste is an individual thing. I love the concept of the Reo and I hate the appearance. Although the wood version looks pretty nice.

I like and use the k100 nearly everyday. It hits hard, has a nice locking ring and the throw is good on the button. This was my first mech, and I got used to it, but use it mostly for dripping.

The only thing that puts me off is there is a little play between the tubes in 18650 mode and everything sits a little crooked on the 510 connection, which could have been me mis-threading it once and damaging the aluminum.

Otherwise, it's a nice, dependable, inexpensive mech.

At $13.90 on Focalecigs group buy its probably the cheapest mech out there as well.

I've kept mine as its a great backup and my "pulser" for glowing up new coils and stuff, in my kit I paid $20 for on a special at Ahappydeal I got the resetting "kick 1", some batteries, pouch, 901 drip shield and a carto and a very good drip tip which now lives on my Kraken.

I didn't even know the top cap came off lol but I do use mine where I need a small profile mod as in 18350 mode even with the penny kick in, its tiny.

I know this is about the K100 but I love my K101, esp now that I took all that chrome plating off, the black and brass/copper looks just amazing. Plus I dremeled the contacts as well. And I have a few authentic mechanicals but I always reach for my K101. To be honest I like it better than my biomech limited....I'll probly sell that one.

HeiSINberg can you post a pic after getting the chrome off? i'm curious how it looks.. how exactly did you get it all off?

I can after work lol sorry I dont get done till around 3 but if someone doesnt beat me too it ill definitely do that for you. I used a dremel, mine came with different tips and I just used a semi rough grit, it flys right off but by hand it is a super pain trust me. But under the chrome plating theres brass I believe, then it looks like a copper is under that, the brass isnt as easy to get through so I left most of it that color. I did the contacts down to the copper I believe, the extension tube, and the locking ring brass. I left the firing button chrome to match my nimbus. It honestly looks awesome, if your into that color scheme of course.

yeah that sounds pretty cool. the extension tube is also brass underneath? i might have to give this a shot myself lol.

Well I read somwhere that its actually chrome plating, then brass, then copper underneath. I could be wrong but I know the brass is. And in a couple spots it looks like copper. I'll post a couple pics later today and you'll see what I mean.

I would like to see a stripped K101 as well.

And to be honest about the mod, with all the hundreds of different colours, styles etc out there, its good enough to suit anyone's taste.

My favourite aspect is the lock ring and how it takes little effort to lock and unlock and with a strong spring so you can stand it on its end without having to lock it up either, yes this mod has a lot of positives, I quite like its bigger brother the Kmax which I took all the ageing lacquer off and is a very shiny copper colour now.
