Why no VV bottom feed APV utilizing Buck-Boost circuitry?

I was just wondering why there are no Variable Volt bottom liquid feed APV's utilizing the buck-boost circuitry found in many tube mods such as the Provari and Lavatube just to name a few.
I personally own several bottom feed VV mods that require two stacked batteries that step down the voltage.
To me, it would better to have a bottom fed APV using just one battery, like a 18650 high drain, and a buck-boost circuit that would boost up the voltage.
Just wondering about other peoples thoughts on the subject.

Sounds like REO is planning to experiment with the dna 12 chip in a Mini or something close to the size of a mini.

Not everyone thinks boost is superior to buck. They both have advantages and disadvantages. I do think that primarily, those who make VV feeders have decided battery life is of great importance. That's a pretty good reason to choose a buck circuit. And, some of them have decided voltage range is important. There are a lot of mods out there with vari or ever-cool regulators that have a range of ~3.0v to ~7.4v. Boosting a 3.7v batt to 7.4v, though probably not all that difficult, presents challenges and invites both user error issues and amp draw issues.

So, in my view anyway, I think that's probably why there isn't a boost VV feeder yet. I will guess that there will be one sooner or later. In the mean time, I'm completely satisfied with my VV REO Woodville and my VVPV (both have the same buck regulator).

Six, Thanks for the reply. All you wrote sounds very logical. I do like my REO's (none are VV as yet) and I would probably jump at the chance to get one with the DNA circuitry if it ever is released. I typically have several APV lined up ready to use when I vape. The batteries get changed out every couple or three days regardless if they need charging or not. For me I'd prefer the boost (single battery) over the buck (stacked battery) because of safety concerns with stacked batteries and because I seldom go over the 6 Volt range when vaping and I can live with reduced battery life before charging. But that's just me and there are many people who would like to go over 6 volts. Thanks again for the reply it's appreciated.

I'm in the final stages of modding my Vmod XL with the DNA 12. I've had a Kick in it since the first batch release, but want more battery run-time. I fear my 18650s will take a beating from the boost, but have plans to order some of the Panny CGR-H batts to compensate some

Should be interesting to see what kind of degredation DNA 12 will give on your 18650's. When you used the Kick didn't you have to go to 18500/18490's? Just wondering.

You went to those batts it was to accomodate the room the kick takes up in the battery chamber. They won't stand up better than the 18650s. There actually are a couple devices that can take a kick with an 18650. A Bolt with two extensions can. If you ask Wooderman will make you a mod with room for an 18650 and a kick.

That's good to know. I do own a Wooderman Expedition bottom feeder that uses two stacked 26500 batt's. I think I can vape that for weeks without recharging. LOL
I have several boost type tube mods already though, a Provari V1, 2 Lavatube type V1 and one Lavatube type V3 (4a limit) so I'm good for now with VV tubes although a VW tube would be interesting and I'm tempted. I think my next mode will probably a VV Reo Grand if I can get my hands on one when they go up for sale in a couple of weeks. I expect though it will be kind of crazy like the last sale Rob had with the VV Reo Woodvill's. Never was able to get one with his site so overloaded!

lol I got a VV Woodvil and I intend to get a grand. It'll be a madhouse again but, from what I've heard the first run of the grands will be larger than the first run of the VV Woodvils. So, it'll be easier to get one this time.
