Been on 0 nic for a few weeks now... but when I am asked when I will "quit vaping" I say "I am not a quitter!" Or I tell them when someone proves it is dangerous I will quit. Otherwise I see no reason to.

0 nic - well done Spikey.

Been on low nic for a month now myself - I'm not sure whether to go to 0 nic, quit completely, or carry on with low nic.

Bollocks, who am I kidding - not content with pissing hundreds of pounds up against the wall on useless pen-style atomizers, I'm about to waste another hundred pounds on a TECC-510 Titan with assorted accessories!

Go me!

I don't want to quit vaping I enjoy it too much:D utill they prove that vaping is worse than smoking I will not give it up.

I can't belive how bad smoking smells since I quit analogs 8-o never going back to them frigging things. I am going to start lowering my nic level every month untill I get to 0 nic if I can.

Spikey! WOW! I didn't know that!! How did you do it????? Also, doesn't getting the zero throat hit with zero nic bother you???? I want that throat hit still. I can move down in nic, but them I'm like arggghhhh I want that thoat hit. I'm basically on 8 now and do a little 6 but then spike with 11 here and there for my throat hit!!! How did you do it????

One of my sons and I are so in our comfort zone right now, we are not going to push it or even attempt at quitting or cutting back our vaping. I tried to get my other kids interested in vaping, even bought them starter kits, but they use it only occasionally as a novelty thing.

I'm curious too and just have to ask - are any of you that are using the 0 nic getting any kind of throat hit?

I'm of the camp that I MUST HAVE THAT THROAT HIT!!! I know I wouldn't be successful with vaping if I didn't get a good consistent throat hit. I've spent hundreds of dollars looking for an e-cig that would be right for me. Between the SD, Dura-C, and Kissbox I've found my heaven. But I'm also vaping 18 mg nic.

Mamu, I think that's one of the wisest route. I really enjoy vaping and I was convinced that it would take more effort for me to acclimate to vaping than it has.

I used up all my prefilled carts so I made a little homemade stuff (watkins pineapple extract, watkins coconut extract and vegetable glycerine)-- any nicotine is from the leftover juice in the wool is probably negligible so I'm pretty sure that if not 0mg it's homeopathic nic content at best-- there's a good throat hit and lots of vapor.

Darn Johnson's Creek high standards! (I ordered on Sat, and they are processing my order still)

I don't think anyone needs to quit vaping if they enjoy it but our ultimate goal should be 0mg nicotine.

Although I haven't kicked the habit yet, e-cigs have gotten me down to 1 pack of cigs per day from 3. I am thrilled with the results thus far and couldn't wait to share the good news. I not only feel better physically but also feel good that I've taken a step in the right direction. But when I shared it with my family, they just rolled their eyes and said "So, what's the big deal? That you still get to blow smoke out of your mouth?". 8-o The fact that they couldn't share my happiness or even acknowledge a significant cutback kinda stung. I guess the non-addicted can't identify with the addicted and non-smokers can't identify with smokers. Keyword: empathy.

That's sort of like decaf coffee. What's the point. My blood pressure is fine thanks, let's don't rock to boat here.
When the air I breathe on a daily basis has fewer toxins than my e-cig, then I will consider quitting.

My 'stock answer' has become...

I like it!

I have a worry deep inside myself about actually quitting the e-cig. You see, my son is ADHD, and once, several years ago I had him at the doctor's office for a regular checkup and medication check. We were in the exam room waiting for the doctor, and I, as usual, was reading posters/info on the walls to pass time. I began reading an article from a medical journal about nicotine and the effects of it on the brain...(it was photocopied and tacked on the bulletin board)

Son's doctor walked in then, and said she felt I was adult ADHD, all my "symptoms" fit, but that I self medicated because I smoke, and therefore was able to live successfully with it.

So I wonder, if I do quit nicotine entirely will I find myself ill equipped to function unless I start taking prescription drugs? This may not seem like a huge deal, but I'm low income. (Son has state funded health care -- I do NOT) Isn't it cheaper to vape my medicine than pay the pharmacy?

One one hand I know I should at least go 0 nic in the future, on the other hand, I really feel it may be a huge mistake... (at least until I get through school and get richer)

Thanks withnail :) I have found that allowing one to buy "gifts (PV's) for oneself helps to "reward" vaping and prevent the desire to smoke :) (although after vaping a few weeks... sometimes just having an analog will do that lol!) Maybe not reward so much as a justification!

Yup.. been in zero nic for almost 4 weeks I think. I did it VERY gradually and I actually barely realized it! I have purxhased some loranns and use that to boost flavor in the zero nic (and make my own zero nic) and I use lemon juice and menthol crytals to boost throat hit. It works fine for me :) Some flavors don't take to the menthol crystals... but I just stick with the ones that do :) I keep a bottle of 11MG VG flavorless in my purse in case I freak out.. but the few times I tried it I got a headache.

Manual battery also helps get throat hit from zero nic.

Same deal as everyone else. People saying so when are you quitting. I say I was just looking for a replacement not looking to quit.

These things rock!:p
I never meant to quit smoking.. just to be able to get nic when indoors... but it happened by accident :)

GREAT ANSWER!
My cholesterol is way over 300 and I am over the age I should be while still taking birth control so I needed to cut down the nic to zero before I had a heart attack. I am glad I did... no babies for me yet! Hopefully I don't hit menopause before I am ready to have a baby.

I loved smoking cigarettes and did not want to quit...I found out I liked vaping better...Just feels cleaner(im sure everyone here knows what I mean).

Im still on about 3-4ml per day of 36mg menth juice and no desire to drop off. My throat hit on 36mg is less than what I felt I had on the real thing so I would hate o go lower and not get at least what is satisfying me.

I heard hot pepper oils can be used to bump the throat hit. Anyone know if theres any truth to it?

I've been using my e-cig for a little over 3 weeks now. Been analog free for over 2 weeks. I love showing it to my friends and explaining how it works. Everyone seems happy that I've quit smoking but most seem to ask the same question:

So when will you quit using it?

At first my response was I don't know but now.. I just have to ask

Why should I quit vaping?

I can afford it. It doesn't seem to be causing harm to anyone around me or my environment. Yes, nicotine is addictive but so is caffeine and I don't see many people willing to give up their soft drinks. I don't get what the issue is?

Anyone else with similar experiences?

Wow, that's deep.

You should quit vaping when you don't need nicotine anymore, and you've beat the habit.

Pretty simple to me. Try backing off the density over time, that might work for you.

The e-cig for me is a means to an end. I believe that I will stop someday.

With the e-cig, I'm feeling like it's not so necessary ATM, I've got time now. How much time, IDK...

You should quit vaping once you find no more joy in vaping or start getting serious health issues because of it.

I have found that inhaling nicotine, like we are doing with e-cigs, is not as addictive as analogs is...at least for me it isnst.

I dont get really strong urges to vape as i did smoking.

Imo the hardest part is transitioning from smoking to vaping completely.

My husband and I needed to quit or cut way back for our health and wallet. My mom smokes so quiting would have been a nightmare as she lives with us.
The e-cig is wonderful, I quit analogs! Mike cut way down. But the plan is..6 months then no vaping for me, unless it's as a treat on 0nic. Mike can do as he pleases. I am at 6mg and 0nic with a once in a while 11mg hit.
I just don't want to be dependant on anything..I hope the next 5 months drag..LOL
Today Mike smoked part of an analog and said "That didn't taste good". Progress at last!;)

Now, ain't that just like a Doctor. They have all the answers, don't they.
FIRST: is nicotine medicating? Ehh, it raises your blood pressure, wouldn't call that medicating..toxic, not medicinal..addicting, probably. Gives a sense of euphoria. So does morphine. So I guess you could say we like nicotine. I like caffein, as well. Does that help cope with ADD or ADHD? Not really. Stops short, matter of fact. It will only comfort you AFTER something happens that points out a shortfall!
May be that we with ADD have issues about comfort, self comfort, we always sort of sit back for fear of looking stupid, one reason is that we do have a different thought process! Plus I'm a Pisces, does that make a difference? YES! Perfectionist, also. Double trouble.
My kids and grandkids have also been diagnosed, so I passed it on, nice, eh? Makes for interesting conversations! I've heard it all about "additive prone", and I think I put that in the same class as Snake Oil. You need to check out the "Wrecked and Bonkers" thread on this forum! We have helpers there, good ones

This is so true. it's no big deal for me to leave my e-cig at home and go to work for 10 hours. When i was on cigarettes, even the thought of having no cigarettes for that long would be unthinkable.

I just found my answer to the 0 nic throat hit question.

I got a supply of ECOpure a couple of days ago. 18 mg and 0 nic menthol. Both give a good throat hit. In fact, the 18 mg packed too much of a punch so I mixed the 18 mg with the 0 nic and have been vaping 9 mg for a couple of days.

The funny thing is that I don't notice any changes in the way I feel for having cut my nicotine in half. Still feel the same, still vape the same. Go figure!

Congrats Spikey! All the stories where people quit or drastically reduced their nicotine intake impresses the heck out of me. I use that as the biggest example about how incredible these e-cigs really are. I mean, whoever thought you could accidentally drop an addiction? Such things always take so much work!

I've heard that adding a touch of vodka increases throat hit...

Hi Laynies,

I did the same thing. I vaped for over 5 months with out any real cigs. I gave everyone the story and even have like 15 ppl at my work using e-cigs now lol. I just said im not quiting just going to vape this from now on since I enoyed it. Over the 5 months just to see the difference in nic lvls I started cutting down the nic lvl ever months or so. I got to the point I switched to 0 nic and didnt feel bad if I vaped non stop since there would be no nic. That was my plan lol. After 2 weeks of no nic I found the other had happend. I would go hours and forget about vaping lol. after about 3 week or so I was only vaping after meals, since that was always habit for me. Finally I just didnt vape any more. Its been 2 weeks with no vaping no either. Was never my plan to quit just happened. Anyways just story for you on it.
