I can't stomach the hardware prices at my local shops. I want to support them because I want them to be there when I need them, but my budget just doesn't allow for it. Does it count if I order from my freedom smokes and go to their warehouse to pick it up?

Except for picking up at MFS warehouses, same boat here.

I visit my local vape shops about once a month to see what's happening and always have something in mind I would buy if they have it, which they usually don't. They enjoy me because I'm on their side and like to talk vape politics. I gave up on vape shop liquids early because of price. Lately the vape shops I visit won't sell a beginner rig for less than $100 so I'd rather send newbies to the local tobacco shop. Paying too much in the very beginning is unnecessary pressure. When my first $20 vape pen cut my cigs by 75% the first day I was more than ready to spend a hundred on something that might be better. Confidence is key.

If I was better off, I'd go on and pay the cost at a shop after some shopping around, except of course for stuff I find out about but no one carries such as NET liquids. As it is, a few carry some reasonable priced, very good brands such as Charlie Noble and I95. I also found some other good flavors at higher price, one lasts me for months but I don't know I'll need it by the time I run out again.

Hardware wise, I do buy some smaller items but mostly I'll only do it if the the price is unusually good. Sometimes one item will be like that even when most is overpriced.

    I have 3 vape shops on my street/ within a 2 min walk !

When I first started I went there regularly and paid the inflated prices because I didnt know any better and because the customer service was absolutely necessary to me at that time!

I found a really great vendor at one of the shops who took the time to explain things to me and to suggest equipment and liquids to my tastes. I went there for several years before finally turning to FT and online for my hardware, mods & tanks.

I still continued going there for eliquids though because of their great personalized suggestions and the fact they let people try out their liquids-even their 5 Pawns ;) !

I still sometimes stop in to see "my" vendor and ask him what's new, what new juices he has and would any of them be to my taste...? His advice and suggestions are worth the extra cost .

However, Ive been going a lot less lately and ordering online simply because I dont have the time to hang out much nowadays or to try juices etc at the store.

Ive also found a great online eliquid shop that sells a huge well chosen selection of premium eliquids AND sells small 1.5-2ml samples of all the products.

Ive found that to be a great plus, id rather pay a euro or so for 2ML of juice that I can try quietly at home in my own equipment.

Plus, that quantity is enough to almost fill a tank/ use over a whole eve or two so you can really get a chance to see if you like it !
(ive thought ive liked juices after a puff or two at the store, bought a 25$ bottle and then.... didnt like it so much at home, in my own equipment :( )

I've been in a vape shop just once. In the beginning of my vape adventure. I arrived at my job and found out I forgot to fill my tank. So, I ran to the nearest vape shop to by 10 ml of juice. I used it just once, it is awful (still have it in my desk at work). No I keep a bottle of unflavored for emergency occasions.
I just do not need vape shops.
I tend to buy as much as I can online. Even from Walmart (you'll be surprised by some really interesting things on their site). I hate shopping. I hate shopping in person especially.

I think for Someone New, it is a Huge Plus to be able to walk in a Vape Shop, spill out an e-Cigarette, and say...

"I bought this Last Week and I can't seem to get it Going. Can you show Me what I'm doing Wrong?".

I also think it is Nice to be able to Sample some Flavored e-Liquids to find a Few that one likes.

Sure, a Vape Shop is going to have Higher Prices on Many/Most things. But for someone starting out, paying a Few Bucks more is a Small Price to pay to be able to talk with a Live Person when they have Questions or when they Can't figure out what is going on.
Adding to this the support to local businesses.

name a juice company that uses nicotine from anything but tobacco

Please direct that question to Senator House (R) from Arkansas.

In case you didn't notice, I put it in quotes. Quotes means you are quoting.

That is because I was quoting the law/lawmakers.

believing anything/everything you're told, w/out checking fact is what is wrong with vaping...but it is a free country, knock yourself out

And if YOU bothered to actually "checking fact", about the laws that were posted about vaping in Arkansas (instead of making snarky remarks to a fellow vaper) YOU would have found that this in several of the articles written.

    Like this one:
Bill to regulate e-cigarettes passes House

But instead, you took to short road.......so, what facts DID you check, if you don't mind my asking? Since you believe this is what is wrong with vaping?

I can certainly post EVERY article and EVERY instance of this law, and why it was passed, it is readily available so easily, since it made big news and is just a few keystrokes away if you know how to Google....but I'm not used to having to spoon feed people who say they believe in fact checking. ;)

If you like Jolly Rancher apple candy than Goodejuice has a flavor that tastes just like it. I tried it and couldn't believe how much it tasted like the candy and ordered a bigger bottle.

This is the kind of thing that got me to spend hundreds looking for a good apple flavor :)

There's a vape shop near my office that has a very good, but small, selection of juices. I try and buy there now and again. But I would never buy gear there. Very small selection and very high prices.

The best apple flavored juice that I've tried is "Apple Rings" by Mt Baker Vapor. A candy flavor, but it tastes like Granny Smith apples. I also DIY with Capella's "Double Apple" flavoring (10%). Excellent!

I have tried Apple Rings by MBV. To me it is a passable green apple. I've tried DIY with Lorann's, TFA, and Flavor West Green Apple. None of them really hit the green apple flavor I'm looking for. I haven't tried Capella's Double Apple. Might look into that.

    Convenience.

If I want something NOW, I can go get it NOW. I may pay a bit more, but I have this thing called Google. ;) I won't grossly overpay for anything unless I am totally in a bind. Eg. $4 for a $0.50 drip tip when I lose mine, $4 for a coil when the only one on me dies, etc.

Also, the ability to touch and feel mods and tanks before buying is worth paying a few extra bucks for.

Lastly, I don't know why supporting your local businesses is suddenly stupid.:(

I have never been in a vape shop. I do all of my ordering online for myself, my daughter, and sometimes her boyfriend.

However, my daughter and her boyfriend stopped into a local vape shop on a whim a little over a year ago. The vape shop has a tasting bar, so they sampled some flavors, and my daughter really enjoyed the flavors from one vendor that the shop carries. They are usually out of our price range for regular vaping, but when we are feeling flush or want something special as a gift, she goes to the vape shop to get a couple of bottles. They have good customer service, too. When my daughter mentioned that they were getting me a CoolFire IV for Christmas, the staff showed her a coil building kit that they carry, and told her about the coil building classes that they offer. No pushing, no hard sell, just putting it out there.

Another vape shop that is near where my daughter works is fantastic. A couple of months ago, the coil she had in her Evod Glass blew when she was at work. She usually carries a couple of extra coils, some extra eliquid, and an extra charged battery with her, but this time she forgot to restock her extra coils. She drove to the vape shop on her lunch break, and the clerk on duty searched for a coil that would work for her for almost 20 minutes. Just as she was getting back in her car, the clerk came running out with a disposable top coil clearo that he gave to her, no charge, because he felt bad that they did not have what she needed in stock. No pushing her into buying what they did have in stock, no trying to get her to buy something she did not want or need. Just great customer service.

They should turn the vape shops into vape lounges, where a dj blasts music, while u vape, drink cocktails/coffee, and eat food

And on the side they can sell u stuff but of course more expensive than online but not too crazy...

That would be cool wouldnt it ? And u can sell juices by the 10ml, friends can try it out together

I very rarely buy from online vendors these days. And I'm a broke student. But I have a great shop I go to, which lots of people don't have. I spend my money there because with the hardware they will support it if something goes wrong and I never have to worry about getting screwed. Plus when you shop at one place as long as I have they become your friends as well. It doesn't hurt that I regularly get free .... thrown my way. Just got a free coolfire 4 because the owner took something else off the shelf for himself and doesn't use it, and it's lightly used, to a free bottle of juice when a new line launches in the store. But besides that... samples. I can't afford to buy juice unless I'm sure I like it. And unless you guys can taste the juice by licking your monitors, I imagine you've ordered a fair bit of juice you ended up not using. Doesn't happen to me anymore. :)
They also have display models of all the mods, so if you're looking, you can try your stuff on any mod you want and take it for a spin in the shop and make sure you like it. I may pay a bit more, but there's never wasted money there.
Plus most places here have little lounges set up. It's nice to have a place to go and just hang out, chat and vape with good people.

I buy a ton of crap so I have it coming in from all over the world.

And that includes local vape shops.

About 99.9999999% of people just one day have had enough and stop in a vape shop and many never smoke again. Then we find the innerweb, buy a Provari and become hobby vapors.

But I haven't forgotten my roots of being sick and tired of being sick and tired.

And I want those stores to be there for others. So I throw them a few bucks now and then.

Its like when I "found" AA. When I got there the room was already full. And they saved me. So I took what I needed and never showed up again. Just kidding, I still go back to help the new comer.

And while local retail prices are higher then innerwebz its still pretty cheap these days. I can walk in most any shop and get a decent mod with a decent tank for less then I paid for my first setup which was crap/crap/crap.
