First e-cig was 2010. The way things change, it feels more like 30 years ago. There's a few very small/limited vape shops in my area. I like to support them, so I'll drop in to buy a tank or a few coils and look at the new stuff. For the most part, I still search online for the best prices. For juice, I actually pay more online because the vendor I use is the only one who has the two flavors that I like...and that hasn't changed in six years.

For me, it's great to have a local shop for the occasional small items I may (or may not) need. For newbies, having a store to look at equipment, get questions answered, recommendations and advice given, and the ability to try juices before you buy them, is a luxury I didn't have as a newbie. And at some point, I know there will be something in the store that I've got to have without waiting or caring about spending a little more for it.

It's great to have the shops, but in my particular vaping situation, I think most will find them more useful than I do...at least right now.

I like my Vape Shop because everyone that works in there is cool as s**t.....

They are always using the latest gear and are happy to let you try it. Their juice prices are comparable to online retailers and I get a free 30 mil after I purchase 10.

Don't get me wrong, I buy most of my Hardware online because it's cheaper, every once in a while I'll throw some hardware business their way because they are cool and let me set at their bar and try all their mod's and tanks and juices for hours if I choose....It's clean, modern and the owner is awesome.

Hey folks happy new year!

With all the vape shops now a days and online sites, what factors make you spend your hard earned money at a particular vape shop?

It could be prices, services, cleanliness. Whatever list what factors most attract you to a certain store.

Because some of us have no choice, since the Republicans in the Arkansas State Legislature decided that eliquid is a "tobacco product" since "vapor liquid, some of which is extracted from tobacco and some is extracted from vegetables" is tobacco.

(The actual mechanical devices that deliver the vapor are not regulated and according to Sen House, will not be regulated.)

Special Announcement: E-Juice Shipments to Arkansas

Arkansas ACT 1235 (SB978) Shuts Down Online Sales

and by the way, In this day of regulation and laws, I find it somewhat disappointing (not to mention hypocritical) that people who pay lip service to being Pro-Vaping would be *bashing* any B&Ms or Vape Shops anyway. :(

I drop by my local madvapes from time to time and buy a little something out of convenience and because I think its good to support the local shops so they'll be around when we need them and for new folks who need advice starting out Picked up a battery the other day and the drip tip I wanted they only had the display model left and they just gave it to me (never used). Super nice guy there he gave me a little wire once when I first started building coils. Also they let you try juices before you buy which has saved me lots of money! I do buy my mods and tanks and DIY stuff online.

Love MadVapes and buy from them online! They are one of the most active out there advocates for vaping :)

..........................and this is what you "highlight" and take away from all she said :?:  no wonder the war on vaping is winning
Yes, I saw something that I did not believe and asked for more information

believing anything/everything you're told, w/out checking fact is what is wrong with vaping...but it is a free country, knock yourself out

I am fortunate in having many vape shopes in and around Chattanooga, and about every 2-3 mos. will make my rounds on a "juice run" since I don't buy without trying. Your taste buds change the older you get besides getting off the tobacco cigs so it was mandatory that I taste first.......Besides that, hubby now knows where to buy me gifts! :)

I'm thankful for the vape shops. Last January 17th I was out of town and went into one to kill time and out of curiousity and walked out a $120 spent on a starter kit and juice. It was love at first drag. Sure I could have found the same goods online for less, but the shop was there to satisfy the impulse buyer in me and I'm glad they were. Vape shop serve a purpose to the newbie.
I'm a retired golf course superintendent and would recommend a new golfer to visit a local proshop and talk to the resident golf professional before making a purchase.
In the last year I have placed 5 orders from Fasttech and purchased my DIY supplies from My Freedom Smokes, but I still frequent our local B&M for somethings. I guess I'm still an impulse buyer.
In my travels south this winter I'm sure I'll hit at least a dozen shops and my wife will hit just as many shopping for shoes and purses. It's all in good fun and if I pay too much for an item from an unscrupulous vendor, it's my fault and I won't revisit him on my return trip.

Consider yourselves lucky you even have vape shops. Imagine how hard it is helping people getting started when they often have never ordered anything off the internet. Even less ordered anything from another country altogether. It's not just the vape propaganda or gear maze that keeps them from starting. It's just as much CC fraud worries, import/tax regulation, etc. Makes the threshold too high for many.

Over here you can't legally buy nic domestically. Has to be ordered from EU countries. Naturally, without liquid sales, there's not much to keep a vape shop going. And what smoker would go there anyway if they can't get the one thing they want: nicotine.

There are a couple of local B&M's around here (Altsmoke is one..) that I go to for my RDA e-juice. A lot of drippin' juice is what some people would call "Premium" - which means nothing more than it costs a lot more than most e-juices. But I do enjoy some of them, and since I only drip at home or with select company, a $22 thirty ml lasts me for long enough lol...but before I drop that kind of money on an e-juice, I want to try before I buy.

Stuff like Twelve Vapors or Teleos (Aries and Dusk, respectively) is some seriously good stuff - and it's just as expensive online (actually it's even more online, because then I hafta pony up for shipping.)

Besides, it's nice once in a while, to hang out in a vape shop where the staff doesn't get weird on me because I'm over the age of 25. That's been an issue for me at a few vape shops, so now I only frequent the ones that have a good selection and a welcoming atmosphere.

I would never have quit smoking if I had to order my first setup online. With no idea how this stuff felt in my hand, or how it worked, I just wouldn't have coughed up the dough to take a chance on a mystery ofrom the Internet. Though my first vape shop also sold some sort of perfume and the place reeked of fake cologne, the nice young man at the counter showed me the starter kits, gave me the pros/cons of each, showed me how to fill my tank, and showed me how to replace my coil. I left feeling like I could manage this, even though it was way harder than flicking my Bic to light a cig.

In my case, this was really helpful because I am a freaking idiot with devices: I insert things upside down, whether it's the blades on my Cuisinart, the cables on the DVD player, or the coil in a clearomizer. I do better when I can observe how to do something, although I have trouble viewing learning from YouTube videos (not always my fault - some filming is terrible!) So, yeah, I really benefited from the hand-holding a B&M can provide. Though I abandoned my original B&M long ago (can not tolerate that perfume!!) there's a great store about 20 minutes away that I visit every couple of months when I want to see how a new mod feels or my online order is stuck somewhere between post offices. The staff are always attentive, helpful, patient, and not pushy with me. I want folks like that to continue to have a job, and want this stuff to be available locally when a storm in the Midwest delays my vape mail.

I don't anymore, in fact I don't spend much anywhere anymore.
However a local vape shop was a godsend when I first started.

I have seen way way too many vapors get taken advantage of in vape shops especially with vapors who expect honesty and don't get it .

There are a ton of people out there that spent big bucks on mods that vape shops said were authentic and they were not . If you don't know gear and what stuff should cost your chances of being ripped off is extremely high imo.

Not all vape shops but i would say most , thats been my experience.
