For a couple bucks I ordered a little stainless sleeve that screws onto the threads, makes the DCTs look a little better on top of the twist. Pretty sure I got it at MVS where I got my twist.

Sent from my Kindle Fire using Tapatalk 2

smok-tech dct's are about the same diameter as the twist (or any eGo)

Yeah, I ordered my 2nd today from MVS. They were one of the only places I could find online that had it in blue. And I've ordered from them in the past so once I had my paycheck in the bank, was a no brainer. :) I grow weary of having to switch back to a regular eGo-C battery towards the end of my evening.
Same for me.. the plain ol Ego sure doesn't have the 'kick' that the Twist has.. much as I loved my KGOs, they're kind of a letdown while the Twist is charging.

I'm still mostly using the -C Type A cone system. I've got SR atties in now, but find I can't crank up past around 4v without things tasting burnt. Next payday when I have a little more spending funds, I plan to explore other options. Maybe get a single coil carto for my tank. Just haven't been a fan of the DC even with the added voltage of the Twist. And I do need to get some Boges so I can finally start using my Bella Tank I bought. :)

To me, a very good vape can be had on the Twist with a single coil carto/atomizer in the 2.0 - 2.5 ohm range. The middle of that range - 2.25 ohms - would give you between about 4.5 and 10.2 watts on that single coil; arguably a wide enough range to satisfy just about any user with any juice.

Dual coils have never made sense to me on lower-voltage devices, which the Twist still somewhat is. If it were even capable of putting 4.8 volts to a 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer [drawing 3.2 amps in the process], which it's not, that would still be a maximum of 7.6 watts per coil. If and when the Twist hits its amp limit (I have heard 2.5), it would be putting just 4.6 watts or so to each coil with maybe 3.7 volts. Again, it makes no sense to me to use dual coils on a Twist.

I have also always wondered why a DCT is called that; a "Dual Coil Tank". That implies that it needs to be used with a dual coil cartomizer, which is just not the case. I am getting great performance with the single coils; not so great with 3.0 ohm, but very great with 2.0 - 2.5 ohm.

What if any tanks look good on top of your eGo-C Twists? I have a J-Tank on mine right now and it looks a little odd

While I don't have the VV ego I did get the Ego C a week ago. Some years ago I tried the 510 and it helped, but I still smoked and craved analogs. Now after a week I haven't had a cig in 4 days. That morning analog craving is the worst for me, but even without the VV, the ego certainly fills that hole where the 510 I had didn't. This device will be the one to get me off of smoking forever, and I am already considering vaping a hobby. I can tell I won't stay with the ego for too long. After I learn more about cartos I am looking into something like the provari V2. It is exciting experimenting with new flavors and even things like the clearomizers I've tried. I focus less on smoking and turn to vaping with enthusiasm, and I don't think about analogs at all. In fact they already smell pretty nasty.

Cool moment actually I was at an event yesterday and the smokers were gathered outside and so I joined them casually chatting while I got plenty of curious stares but no questions. Felt like the kid with the Nintendo in a room full of Atari's :D

Great starter device!!

This kind of attitude when approaching electronic cigarettes is almost foolproof.

But to get this kind of attitude I think you have to have something in your hands that works "good enough" for now.
At that point, you can either be satisfied, or see the potential for bigger and better things.

Either way, you are probably "there" when you feel this way.

Totally agree. And that is exactly what the ego C has done for me!
That is also what the Ego-C finally did for my sister, who is actually the one that introduced me to e-cigs three years ago.
I found this forum, learned, and embraced electronic cigarettes while she eventually went back to smoking.

She refused to utilize this forum, or my advice, saying she would prefer to do things her way.
Eventually, she did things her way right back to cigarettes.
:(

As an aside, she now also very much likes the WTA juice I got for her.
She calls it her "stress reliever" juice.
:)

Thankfully I believe I've seen a single coil version of the flanged carto

Thankfully I believe I've seen a single coil version of the flanged carto

What I've found is that I don't see or feel the need for a flange, especially since Smoktech badly screwed up the design of the bottom piece of the DCT tank so the flange on the carto either A) engages very poorly if at all with the molded-in flat spots on the bottom cap, negating much of its purpose (keeping the tank from spinning around the carto upon removal of the tank from the PV/APV), or B) has no chance of engaging since no attempt was even made to mold flat areas into the bottom cap of the tank.

The addition of a trim ring over the eGo threads keeps the tank from sliding down - problem solved. And a carto without a flange allows you to replace the carto even on a full tank by simply sliding a new one in from the top of the tank, which then becomes the bottom of the tank. Coincidentally, I just did it about ten minutes ago when the draw started getting a little hard. Insanely easy, and very convenient. Gotta keep those great vapes going in this war on cigarettes we're fighting. Keep your powder dry, and your cartos moist!

Crystal Clear Vaping has a very good deal on 15-packs of 2.0 and 3.0 ohm single-coil XL stainless steel cartos. They're presented as being Boge's, but the box just says "Atomized Cartridge", and has markings on the side saying "Dekang Inside" and "SGS". (Anyone know if these really are Boge?). At any rate, they work great, with no funny taste.

The 2.0's tend to run a little higher than that - generally around 2.2 - which makes them just about PERFECT. Hands-down the ideal cartomizer to use in a Twist. Single coil, right in the Twist's volt/amp wheelhouse.

Crystal Clear Vaping

$21.70 for 15 - $1.45 each. Pretty tough to beat.

Congratulations! Isn't it a truly wonderful moment when you realize that cigarettes no longer own you! Just make sure you have a tasty juice that has a high enough nic for you, and that morning craving will soon be a distant memory. I would 100% rather be vaping a yummy juice like for eg. chocolate/hazelnut or caramel/cappaccino in the morning than a misereble stinky cigarette!

Looks like a good deal. I just ordered my 2nd Twist battery, so I'll have to wait a week to make another order. But it's all good. I've got my eGo-C tanks for now, and they're really not that bad. I don't get all the hate. As long as you keep things vertical when you insert or remove, there's really no leaking. Some condensation, but that's to be expected.

YES!!!! In fact I smoked a half analog when my brother came over and I couldn't STAND it!! He smelled. It smelled. It was awful. Smoking half an analog was like a kick in the nuts. Not pleasurable at all. I can SMELL smoke on people now. Feels like a new found sixth sense. Gotta kick up the gym because food tastes so much better now!! :)

So here's a horror show waiting to happen: my last boge carto is on my twist. I've got 15 ml of juice left. It's 2 am Thursday. On the way is 2 more twists, 4 boxes of cartos and 60 ml of juice. Due here Saturday if the post office does it's job. I go away Sunday for 2 weeks. Looking like a potential disaster if something goes wrong.

I heard blu cartos fit into 510 connections. Anybody know if that's true? Worse comes to worse, if that's true can always hit Walgreens for a couple of boxes of blue cartos.

No vape store near by? Or near where you're going for 2 weeks? Even if the treads don't line up, you can at least use the blu, or Mystic from WalMart to get by for 2 weeks.

Yes they are. And yes, they are very good. I've been using them for a very long time. When in doubt, look inside--Boge cartos have a 'cotton wool' type filler, tightly woven, as opposed to the 'blanket type' filler in most other brands.

Smoketech single coil cartos are also very good.

I just got 5 packs (25) true Boge cartos from surevape for $23 (free shipping.)
I'm using one now.
Look under "cartomizers" and click on "deal" go to "Boge mix and match"
Dunno how long they'll be on sale.
Boge Mix n Match (5 Boxes)

I have no affiliation. I've been buying from CCV also. Just found this in the deals thread and wanted to share.
