I can't find the big thread right now and I have some on the way via trade. Do folks use this instead of mesh just for better wicking? Because I've never had a problem with wicking on mesh.

Durability? What is it.

A bit confused because I see that (most?) are putting mesh, or something else, diapers on them.

Rope/wire wick is great, I use it on all my atty's now. It's easy to use, has great flavor, lasts a really long time (haven't had to replace any of mine yet and it's been months) and it wicks better than anything else I've tried (cotton, ekowool, silica, mesh, & cheesecloth)....

As for how to use it, I just cut off a piece that's the right length for my atty and wrap a small amount of mesh around the top of it, generally about 1/4" long, then I wrap my coil around the mesh. The mesh helps prevent shorts but you can also use ekowool or silica sleeves for that. I prefer the mesh because I had a few issues with the ekowool and silica fraying at the ends and it annoyed me.
