I'm curious to hear about your issues with the Cobra? I got a Cobra a couple of weeks ago and I've been hitting a roadblock trying to get it to work.

I just find I have to tweak it and tilt it a lot. Seems kinda touchy. I bought some pre carbonized wicks off eBay cause I couldn't get the mesh that cam to work with it at all. So now it is working but it doesn't seem to really vape strong. Tried 5 roll, 7 roll...

The vid with the ZAP makes me think it isn't my technique, but that I need to prod the wire a lot before getting juice in there. Thought I did it well enough but we shall see.

When the Cobra works, it is awesome, then it seems to pidder out to lame. I am a noob at this...

It's mostly in your coil and wick setups rather than the genny. I have a ZAP running on 500 ss mesh, 150mm solid roll completely filling the 1/8 wickhole with 28ga. on a Provari at 1.2 ohm. It's never produced so much vape before in comparison to any other SS setup previously. Take out that plastic insulator first.

If you like higher ohms such as 1.5 + up, then use 30ga. Kanthal.

For some reason I have never had much luck with that one, hoping it is a little more forgiving then my Cobra...

And here we all are, still awaiting an outta da box working, awesome, fuss free and rea$onable joose device!!!

Next week will be my second vaping anniversary and I cherish how far the technology has progressed. But... it's most frustrating having our ilk spend buck after buck chasing a superior vape without tweak this, remove that, replace this, drill over here, etc.

Regardless, I do appreciate our ECF 'pioneers' and this site that have enhance our vaping knowledge and experience!

Absolutely, it works superb out of the box. Mankind will never be content with anything that cannot be improved, even frivolous attempts are cherished ... :toast:

Sorry, but this thread really boosts my confidence... I haven't had many problems solving the Genisis and have been rewarded with a great vape that's very consistant. From AGA's to the ZAP, to most recently an original D.I.D. these things are well worth the effort to develop your technique and master. Don't give up, people!!

My advice is to get a good cartotank setup like you described, something in pyrex with a good cartomizer and use that primarily. Get a cheap Gennie and tinker with it for a while in your spare time and watch a lot of videos on youtube. Eventually you'll get confident enough with it to rely on it more and more. Reliable? Let me attest to the fact that once done correctly, a Genisis will run fine for weeks without any attention.

ProVape still shows em in stock 5 days after the release. Amazing. I understand they used to sell out in minutes. Have the ZAPs fallen out of favor w/the hi-end RBAers? Maybe folks have heard rumors about some new Zen stuff in the works & are waiting to see that? I had one in my cart a couple days ago, but as much as I love the one I have, I don't 'need' a second ZAP & am intrigued by what Zen may have come up with...so I didn't check out. Anyway, this is interesting.
