Wick burning out...

I don't know why my wick from my rda is burning, I keep it saturated and even kept it around 9 watts... any tips?

That might not be burnt, it could just be discolored. Does it taste burnt? When you put the wick in the coil when it was dry, did it move with just slight resistance? If you choke the wick in the coil it will have trouble feeding and can burn. Also, that wick looks incredibly long, any particular reason for that? What rda did you have this in?

if you are vaping a very dark juice, it will leave behind some of its coloring as you vape....but yeah that wick is WAY too long

It is in a Kamry X1, and it was the first rebuild that I put it in so I made it pretty long just so I could gauge it.

Most of my juices are very light in color, and it does taste a bit burnt, and as far as resistance it moves in the coil with little resistance

My guess would be you're not getting as much airflow as you need in that Kamry X1. Try going down to 7 watts.

ETA make sure you place the coil right over the air hole.

You might want to check your coils for hot spots. Your coils should fire evenly, heating in the middle first. If you have some sort of imbalance or anomaly, you can get one spot that's burning the wick.

it also could be how tight you're stuffing it in. if you use cotton. pull so that it can slide out but with a little resistance because the cotton will expand. if you use rayon wick it so that it's a lot of resistance to pull out. rayon doesnt expand as much as cotton

either your density through the coil is off, or have a loose wrap, causing a hot spot, or a combination of both.

When you pulse the coil, does it glow from the middle out?? Pulse and squeezing coil can help even it out. But as long as the coil is working fine, then it's simply play with the density of the wick through the coil, till it vape right.
