If I remember correctly, Zippo wicks have metal wires in them to keep the wick in one piece and easier fit it through the lighter. It's been 3+ years since I've had to rebuild my Zippo's, but I believe that's the case.
I think the biggest issue concerning harmful wicking materials is that none of us know any long-term side effects. With smoking, you're well aware of the long-term issues and the outcome based on 60 years of it's existence, while it's only been a few years with ecigs. I think the primary concern by most people about the little things with ecigs is justified, but I also believe it to be a "harm reduction", rather than intrinsically safe. I knew walking into the ecig world that very little testing had been done, but since I knew every ingredient in the liquid I was vaping, and I know exactly what's in my rebuildable atomizer, I don't worry about it at all.
Agreed 100%
, you can type CC till you're blue in the face...just saying I'm not anymore
It's perfect for getting an idea of the length of your resistance wire, and with that, the resistance (ohms) of your coil. Unless you have a perfectly formed coil and exact measurements, this will be a ballpark figure; but should be a close ballpark
