Seems that should work well. I'm vaping one of the new long wicked "Stardust" that Discount Vapers have in now, and it uses four small diameter wicks that look just about that size.

Cool.

I would try it. I would probably want to boil it first though.

EvilGrym, I may have missed it, but have you used cotton yarn or only the bamboo?

I use cotton. Others use bamboo. I'm waiting for my bamboo, it's in the way.

To try and gain more insight into this I am going to create a wick with the coil wire woven inside of it. This should create an environment more similar to the cartos.

I guess I'll create a new thread for that as it's not directly related to the original subject matter of this one.

I made such a system not lon ago: buffered coil covered with wick. ( Called this system "Kuzkina mat" Khruschev promised to show it to america very long ago).

Gives a lot of nic out of liquid. May be becuase of well sized drops of vapour.


There was another one type of KM - double coiled KM , first made inner wick with coil then cover with outer wick and round outer coil.


Both works on organic wicks

Back at it this am.

I managed to braid the coil into the wick so none of it is exposed. Took several tries but it ended up being fairly simple. I'll post the method if I find it makes an improvement.

Now I'm trying to remove all silicon from the configuration. Problem is how do you do so and maintain a safe contact with the negative end of the wire.

I tried making the contact externally and as suspected it did not work successfully to complete the circuit:

Anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this without any silicone or solder? Maybe try to fabricate the inner silicone separator cap from another medium that won't (shouldn't) burn like aqua clear foam or something?

I think we should name this the Heidi mod based the looks of the above photo - also could be that Wendy's chick lol.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone see anything wrong with using this? It says 100% bamboo in multiple places and it is just bleached white.

here is the reccomendation from ecigtalk.ru ( transating as i can): round a coil on ear cleaning stick, remoove stick, install coil in place, then birn it without wick, then take a needle and sew the wick. Ready wick must moove in coil if you pool at the end. (because the wick increases in size when getting wet.)

This method is good fo gauze too.

charlz hipped me to aquarium safe silicon sealant, DAP and Loctite both make it. Only trouble is you have to wait at least 24 hours for it to cure. I wonder if a dab on each contact would hold things in place without adding resistance or damaging conductivity

I'm assuming the oxidized syringe needle is just flamed and then dunked in water 3 times?

Why do you oxidize it? What happens if you don't?

If you don't oxidize needle it short cirquit coil. Oxidizing by flaming and then dunking in water with baking soda (NaHCO3).
Needle turns black. You can get result faster if first cover needle with wet baking soda powder and then flame. Soda melts and oxidizing process goes faster.

aquarium safe silicon sealant

uses acetaldehyde as a solvent. When copper exposes to acetaldehyde vapours it turns green. VERY green, i'm afraid about toxic compounds coming out of this reaction. so be careful. ( i've used to work with such sealant when building my aqarium, then used it in copper atty. had to throw away atty ).
