:2c: I have noticed that if I wrap my gauze wick with wire it comes out so much better than if I try to feed the gauze through the coil. For gauze wick consistency on the E-2's, I roll up the gauze fairly tight and see if it fits in the slots of the cup. If its to big I unroll a little bit until it fits nice-a-nice. For me this has been very consistent.

IMO, the gauze is much better than the cotton/bamboo wicks.

Like every other mod we have tried there will be a learning curve to the cotton wick. For some it's just around the corner, for others it will be like being on a LA freeway loop. Hopefully most of us will get there in the end.;)

I know right!...it's especially crappy when by fluke you nail it first time then all subsequent attempts don't quite rate...you're left thinking...it's the same device, same cotton, same kanthal, same resistance, same tightness of wrap, same coil spacing, etc...wth am I doing wrong!...the only variable left is wick density...and it's an important variable...I guess if you had a scale accurate enough you could measure how much to twist into your ideal wick by weight or...ok, OCD meds kicking in...I'll be fine in a bit :D

I gave up a long time ago trying to repeat and decided the spice of life is variety, enjoy what you get... lol Don't tell my wife.

first gauze wick I did, couldnt have asked for more.

All the gauze wicks past that (10+), performance is off, weird flavors because it either wicks too much or too little, too strong thoat hit, no vapor, clouds of vapor but no throat hit, no flavor, full flavor.

damn.

If every thing is consistant, Then it must be something else causing the offness.

It's possible the weather has a lot to do with it. Barometric pressure and stuff for making steam.

I know when it gets hot and dry here, I have to put my stuff in the fridge. every time I go get a beer, I vape 2 or 3 puffs on each one of them and it's great. Come nightfall and in the morning vapin is back to normal and i leave it out of the fridge.:2c:

That's interesting...I always found vaping better on a warm day, (even in Mexico at +100 F ), sure, things get pretty leaky but meh...just goes to show you how subjective and to each his own this vaping thing can be...

Interesting...I find hot and dry the worst. I use mostly pg and there's no vapor and a yuck taste like when you lick the juice off your fingers.
Today is hot and muggy, a storm is coming in. Vapor is good.

When the dryness of fall comes here my vapor falls right off especially when we turn the heat on. FHA.

I wonder if this has ever been looked at, how heat, cold, humid, dry, pg, vg affect the vapor?:)

Does watter addidtion heals the problem with vapour on a hot weather?

I haven't tried it yet, but I will next time it happens and let you know.;)

I just got a CE2 going with Kanthal A-1 wrapped pretty damn tight, 3.0 ohms. Its kicking 100% thinned VG on my unregulated 808s like a mule

Now watch in 20 mins I'll be back crying about how bad it is lol

Amazing how it vapes on a small battery when it's dialed in. I wish some of my Blu bats were still working. I'd love to give it a try for some stealth vaping.;)

Ps: It's been more than 20 minutes.LOL

PSS: whats the weather like now where you are?

new york has been kind of funny. its hot during the day, but nice and cool at night :)

and my stealth vapes occur in cool areas, so its OK :)

the thing is still kicking like a mule :) gotta love V4L, those puppies hold their voltage like no other stick on the planet. I wired it at 3 ohms on purpose, 2.4 on a CE2 and the V4L batts scorch the crap out of it

So... Are you guys braiding strings from the gauze, or rolling the gauze as is (like you'd do with mesh)? I tried both, and cannot decide which I like better
Seems like braiding wicks faster, but simply rolling it is much easier and maybe even vapes better. That can all be just due to the that particular setup I had with each wick at the time, so I'm still undecided on this.
