Lorann? Bro you're back in 2009 ;) Speaking of flower juices, I just discovered FA Ylang Ylang, its amazing. It literally tastes and smells like a flower, I have no idea why I enjoy it so much, I could see vapers being repulsed by it, but its rocking lol. Works with bamboo too.

I know right?...holy food colouring batman...but there's a few flav's I can't better by FA...the Mango is one, another vice I have is Lorann's watermelon, which I love, in all it's dayglow red goodness

Have you tried the super concentrated fruits from vaping zone? Should have thought of this earlier, you're manly persona makes it easy for me to forget your DIY tastes. If you want 'em, I have a pile I can send you just say the word. They're great, I just never use them and they're sitting here wasting space and giving me existential anxiety.

And btw, it is totally constitutional for the US gov't to own and operate a business, and they do such a great job! Said business thought it was fitting to sit on my hemp for days then send it to another sorting facility 20 mins away! What an amazing thing! Guess I'll see it when I get back from christmas in the swamp (Florida) lol

Well to turn down that offer would only translate into me enabling your existential anxiety...imagine the legal (and moral) implications...send what you want on over :D...I think you have my address, if not I'll PM it to ya...time to go sit in a 2 hr border crossing...yay!

Thanks Cy.

I have made a successful hemp coil now too. It's better IMO than my bamboo attempt. I'm still new to this DIY wick manufacture but see wonderful potential. It didn't really take too long to do. Just have to be careful not to lose the tiny parts all over my bed.

Questions for the experts.
1. Keep the natural wicks wet. No dry burning. So when it starts to get a tight draw, should I make a new wick?
2. I also note that the vivi nova gets hot as well as the battery. Seems more so than with silica wick. Is that normal? My ego twist gets hot but the provari not as much.

TIA

Typically a cotton wick will start fading in performance. ie: not as much vapor, slightly muted flavor. I'm not sure what you mean by "tighter draw" I understand that to be air constriction? As for the Vivi: I did notice my eGo 900mah passthrough would get a noticeably warm, but nothing too hot. I'm not an expert; I'm a person that's been vaping cotton a month or two though :)

Wow I didn't know TPA made those flavors. Makes sense. I've heard DV ylang ylang and lotus flower are amazing but I've never had. Kinda worried about getting hooked on a flavor that requires UK shipping too ;)

They tend to "gunk up" my coils a bit faster, but they are really a nice, sweet smooth taste. My sweet spot is two drops per ml. Like exhaling flowers lol. Oh, and the two mix together nicely.

Your wick material should really have nothing to do with how hot your batts get, that would be your coil resistance and the current you're pushing through it...you may be up against current limit of your twist...the provari is a bit more robust current handling wise (plus there's a pretty thick tube between your hand and the batt, not so thick on a twist...try adding another turn on your next coil and up the voltage for the same results and it'll be a lot easier on your gear...devices get hot, that's pretty normal but if my batts start getting hot I get a little concerned.

Ah, OK. I've been making 6 wraps of wire. Averaging 2.2 or 2.4 ohm. Vaping at 4.3v. 100%VG. Seems OK so far.
I was wondering how long everyone's hemp wicks last. I tend to chain vape when I have the device. Every now and then I get a slightly burnt taste and then remember to tip the tank and rewet the wick. Seems to fix it for a while. Do you bother to wash the wicks and dry them or do you just make a new wick when needed?

I bought 2 different kinds of Hemp string from Joann's yesterday... One of them seems like a less refined 100% cord like BJ's and the other is 100% hemp that looks and feels more yarn like... Will put some pics of it up after church.. That is if we go, my 11 yr old got up at 4am with a tummy ache and fever...

@Nadine.... What atty are you using the hemp with?

Hi there! Hope the tummy ache and fever have subsided.
I'm using vivi nova tanks. Both the mini and the 2.8ml.

Don't forget to boil the hemp for 10-15 min. I boiled mine twice with a rinse in between. It dried super fast. I put some clothes pins along the bottom edge of a plastic coat hanger, then just loosely looped the hemp over each pin a couple of times. Hung it where air would circulate well.

Cheers!

I tried without boiling... interesting to say the least... kind of a cardboard taste with the juice..

I boiled in a pyrex measuring cup in microwave :p .... Type A personality here... Wil report back if microwave technique works... It seemed to cook the hemp string.. but heh... If it works, great, if not... I have a lot of string to play with.

Adding a baking element to this topic. :)
I just did an assembly of 5 new hemp coils using a mini muffin tin to keep all the small parts from getting lost. A bottle of juice can also sit in one of the cups for the final test phase where you need a drop or two to wet the wick. Kinda reminded me of when I used to build Legos with my sons. We used big muffin tins to separate the little pieces.

I did one extra wrap and ended up with an average 2.7 or 3.0 ohm.
A long sewing needle helped to wrap the wick and keep the coils close together. Removed later of course.

Happy vaping!
