Seeing as how some joose taste better with bamboo and some with cotton, It makes sense to have some setups with both.
What I just realized after using just bamboo for a while as an added bonus is if you swap back and forth between bamboo and cotton even with different jooses it keeps the freshness/newness alive like when we first started using it. :>)

I am wondering why the manufactures aren't moving to cotton wicks over silica, due to some of the health concerns of silica? I would really like to see that option, and be able to get pre-built cotton wick and coil replacements. I have purchased two rba's, but won't touch em till I get around to changing out the silica to cotton, or SS.

I brought up cotton 'back in the day' in the gotvapes forums and the response was basically "if it burns, we could never use that."

I get it, if you're new to it, poof, burnt wick. But then again silica...hmm. And then again if you're worried about newbs maybe you shouldn't hype up and sell crap that doesn't work well and then say "well I'm not having problems" when they come crying to you... lol

+1 for touching on the dizzying prospect of vetting the info/advice available in forums like this by newbs (of which I was, and maybe still am 16 months ago). Trying to filter actual, good, solid, proven methodology out of the endless hyperbole and mantra that is parroted by peeps with 5000+ posts of "forum cred" is a daunting task to say the least...a task I still regularly fail at, cough, Reomizer, cough

In this rba "new world order" I really believe the "newbs" have the advantage. They aren't constrained by the "if it burns, we could never use that." type statements...newbs can still sit back in their chair, tent their fingers in thought and say, "ok, fine...but why?"...and I'm so glad they do, it keeps things fresh, progressive and stimulating. I've said it before and I'll say it again, my best ideas come from watching people that have no idea what they're doing...:D

I'm a prime example of a "newb" who read through 3500 posts (in this thread), did my DD as to where/how to get some of the items locally, paid attention to who was saying what.. Guess what I found out?
1. I was extremely lucky finding this thread early on.
2. about 10 or so of the regular posters to this thread actually know what they are talking about from real experience.
3. It's not that hard to DIY if you PAY ATTENTION and not take any post as truth. Do your own research :)
Above all: Be safe!
I thank all of you so much for the helpful information, especially about cotton! I've never vaped longer than a few hours on anything but :) To all you other "Newbs", "Noob", etc. This is a thread where real knowledge flows. You just have to pay attention ;)

Oh, and I'm diggin' the Terminator RA... It seems to have what I've been searching for in a "R" tank, but with true RBA goodness... and I don't have to wait months on a waiting list...

Back in the day when I was doing electrical work out in the field, I was running a crew that was installing this serious elaborate track-lighting in a crystal store...the tracks where all hung at different heights from redi-rod (threaded rod)...sometimes one redi-rod would be supporting multiple tracks at different levels...this was going to be a major time consuming PITA...one of my guys brought his retired father-in-law in to labour (he was probably happy to get away from the wife and plus it put a couple bucks in his jeans)...while I'm sorting out how to task the guys and sort out how many rod couplers and split nuts we were going to need (split nuts cost $$$ when you need hundreds of them) this old guy is beating one of the redi-rod nuts into the end of a piece of emt (that's the metal tubing you see that has wires in it)... essentially making a 10' deep socket that you could chuck in a high speed drill...brilliant...that's all I could say...

We're all guilty of wearing blinders...of conforming to tried and true methods...this guy had no idea how "pros" tackle this kind of job, or that split nuts even existed...my boss made sure there was more than just "a couple bucks" in his jeans in the end and I learned how important it is to never stop learning.

I regularly have an argument with my woman, bleeding heart liberal, about education. This libertarian subscribes to quigs school anyday ;) And I'm someone who's spent the majority of his life in higher education of some form. Anything I've actually learned, came from experience, inspiration, anxiety, force, and...magic

Magic ...yes, can't forget magic...

So I've got this juice, Lorann Mango diy 10mg, 70/30, I just rediscovered it about a week ago, it was one of my goto flav's back in my DD'ing into a dewicked/debridged cisco 510 days...the taste is awesome (to me) but I think I may have found one of those flavours that just doesn't seem to play well with anything. It tastes pretty good for a couple days on a silica'd ERA or in my Line on mesh but then the taste goes down hill quickly (I actually caught myself dry burning the other night) and forget running it on cotton or bamboo beyond a couple hours...I think it may be one of those flav's that the re-burn of it's own deposits is just nasty (almost a fish flavour)...

The point I'm trying to make is...if I was new to vaping, found this thread, and just so happened to be vaping one of these pretentious, up-tight, hot house flower juices I may be inclined to think you're all on crack...dismiss this whole organic thing and move on...just goes to show ya, there is no silver bullet

Now I am sold on hemp, not all hemp just that 20lb 1mm natural that luck and magic brought me.

USPS has been playing games with my hemp man, it should be here today. I'm running out of kitchen utensils to wrap around and boil though, I've been using large serving forks haha

Lorann? Bro you're back in 2009 ;) Speaking of flower juices, I just discovered FA Ylang Ylang, its amazing. It literally tastes and smells like a flower, I have no idea why I enjoy it so much, I could see vapers being repulsed by it, but its rocking lol. Works with bamboo too.

I grow Ylang Ylang on my farm, when we were growing up we just crushed the yellow flowers in our hand and rubbed instant cologne on our face. Have a couple of trees in the yard that give a great scent in the evenings. Oscar de la Renta bottles it for many dollar an oz. Have to seep some flowers and try it.
