I bought a SMOKTech SID as my first mod a few weeks ago which has quickly become my baby. I also got a Kanger ProTank which has surpassed my expectations. But now its coming time to rebuild the coils, which I basically know how to do.

My question is this:
What are my options as to wick material? I've been interested in ss mesh for durability and possible prevention of dreaded dry burns. But now I've heard of cotton, hemp, cable, etc. How much of this is doable in my set up?

Most anything. Cotton from any number of sources, bamboo, ekowool, silica... good silica... some things are more prone to flooding, but sometimes you can adjust thickness to correct that. I like 3mm bamboo for all sorts of things... but that's just me. ;-)

I've been on the look out for high quality 2 and 3mm silica... I'd like to try it.

I have the Kamger pro tank 1/ 2 in love with them both. I don't rebuild by heads, but when I put a new head in I wiggle the top of the head out ( where the silicone is ) and remove one of the 3 wicks layers on top of each other prevents burning and you get a cleaner fresher tasting vape try it worst comes to worst you just put the wick back in!
