i ran out of idea, my wicks in multiple RDTA and RTA keep splitting, is it the way i vape or my set up>? i chain vape all the time.

If it's spitting, then your wick may be too loose in the coil. Cotton expands slightly and Rayon shrinks as it is wetted and heated. Rayon should be very snug in the coil. Cotton should be a little looser. Both should be snug enough that you have to twist the wick as you pull it through the coil. If you can pull it back and forth easily when you first install it it's probably too loose. If you feel light drag when you pull it back and forth it's probably about right.

The other cause of spitting is too much power on a coil that can't handle it. In that case, you are boiling the juice a little too much. The sweet spot is where you get good vapor without overheating the juice in the coil. Air flow is another factor. Low air flow allows more heat gain in the coil and wick.

Do you mean like breaking in two inside the coil? To me the culprit for that has always been a hair too much wick in the coil (spaced OR contact.) If I'm getting a bad vape like 1/3 of a tank in, that is almost always the culprit, for me.

I don't know if spaced coils make it "less' likely. I mean... Possibly? But it might be a sort of unintended side effect because it's a lot harder to over-wick the coil without deforming it.

I would play around and with less wick in the coil. If the coil placement is good you don't need to stuff it like a pillow.

Yes, I keep telling myself that when I have overwicked it is my prime offender, usually.

Sounds like the wick delivery (drying out) may be a problem. Suggest getting a sample of Rayon "Cellucotton" and try it out.
re: Rayon wick, better flow, flavor, saturation and Nic Hit!

Filling in your location may help you in obtaining location specific information to your question(s) such as where to obtain an item.
On the top right hand corner of this post you will find --"your name" next to "Inbox and Alerts"
Place the mouse pointer on your name. You will get a drop down and on the left hand side of this drop down you will find "Personal Details". Click Personal Details.
In Personal Details, in middle of screen in gray, you will find "Location" Could fill that box line in.

You are overwicking IMHO and if you are replacing daily, well some cotton users do that, and some don't, but most rayon users definitely don.t.

seems like over would do that but have burn't hits but under would have that too. Some people should wick more often.

If it is "splitting" it's either because you are not getting the hot spots out of the coil, or the coil diameter is too small for the watt level you are vaping at.

Just wanted to add that what I said about diameter is not your problem. 3mm is good.

That happens to me when I don't put enough cotton or I fire it and the insides of my wicks are not wet enough to handle the heat (they essentially burn in half).

I use rayon. Sometimes when I'm putting in a wick the rayon can be separated into 2 or more small sections that aren't well connected to each other. That's just the way it comes. I can end up with a wick that's forked with a gap in the middle. Sometimes I pick at it with a dental pick and it sorts itself out. Juice will pull it together as well. Maybe cotton is the same.

I've never noticed a wick being split like that after use.

Does the splitting cause a problem? Does it mess up your vaping?

That wick is just getting seasoned.

But since it's on an OBS Engine Nano, you'd just throw the whole thing in the bin. :D

Now, Now, no need to call in the big guns.

I agree on the 18350 mods, they are pure novelty. And I only have one that was quickly converted to 18650 after one day. ;)

lol
disagree 100% a tiny 18350 tube is my pod replacement

just this morning i have been looking for a tiny dual 18350 stabwood box

batteries are up to around 1200mah and 10-11A
