When it comes to Nicotine, some vendors costs are higher than others and that's going to trickle down to you, the consume. It depends on if the vendor in question is going direct (i.e. buying from the source) or buying and reselling (i.e. buying wholesale from a vendor like WizardLabs, marking it up further and reselling).

Ideally, you want to go with a direct vendor. That'd be WizardLabs, NudeNicotine and MyFreedomSmokes. There could, of course, be other vendors that go direct and buy in 1,000mg/ml quantities, but that stuff isn't sold to just anyone because if you think 100mg/ml is toxic, think 10x that. It's not something you or I want to handle in our homes or even in a basic B&M environment.

When dealing with such strong concentrations, you need to take hazmat precautions, just as you would in a lab with acids. That means suit up, gloves, masks/facewear, proper ventilation inside that passes and filters it to the outside etc. Getting 1,000mg/ml on your skin would not be a laughing matter as it's essentially highly concentrated poison that you're dealing with.

When you see the prices, you're not just paying for a name, packaging and the chemical, you're paying for testing, worker safety precautions etc. Even at $200/gallon, for instance, that's 3785ml of Nicotine mix. Unless you're a vendor, I highly doubt you'll be going through that much in a year. You'd have to vape 315.4ml of 100mg/ml per month, which for me would be 175 15ml bottles of e-liquid (12mg/ml using 1.8ml of 100mg/ml per 15ml bottle of e-liquid).

That said, $200 comes out to $16 a month broken down over 12 months. That's a steal compared to what some of us used to pay for cigarettes.

NOTE to Tactical

FORUM RULES -

It has become obvious that some members joining in discussion of pure nic do not have any idea of the danger, or any knowledge of working with hazardous chemicals, or even any basic knowledge of measurements. Pure nic is as dangerous as cyanide - opening a bottle in a room can result in all present being poisoned. It must be handled in a fume cupboard, with hazmat precautions. Pure nic can be theoretically defined as: Nicotine 100%, 1000mg, 1000mg/ml, but is more likely to be found as 998mg, 997mg/ml or 990 mg (99%). We consider anything over 90% / 900mg to be 'pure nic'. No discussion of use or links to suppliers are allowed.

There is a very real danger of death or hospitalization with this material and ECF cannot support any publicity of its use or sources. There is no need to use it since far safer strengths are available for bulk mixing, such as 48mg (4.8% nicotine in PG or VG), 60mg (6%) 100mg (10%), and so on. To protect our members and ourselves we do not allow discussion or sources of anything over 200mg (20% nic) except within private trade forums. Trade promotion on ECF cannot exceed 36mg strength. Vendor's sites can sell any strength up to 89% though we advise vendors to limit sales to 10% / 100mg/ml where possible. Sites selling pure nic will be banned.

I used WL until I found Heartland Vapes. $100/liter or $255/gallon. Quite happy with the quality and the customer service.

It was even better when it was $74.99/liter with free shipping over $75 but those days are gone.

I bought 2 liters at that price several months ago and am very happy with the quality.

Your math is wrong. WL nic comes in a maximum of 500ml bottles.

You are wrong they do sell it by the gallon to wholesale customers and they sell other things in bulk not listed on the website.

Do you really believe someone making commercial juice by the truck load is buying 500ml or even 1000ml bottles at retail?

Beef comes in a wild array of prices too. What's the lowest priced beef you're willing to eat?

As with most things, raising a cow and butchering it yourself is hugely less expensive than buying prepared and cooked for you at a restaurant. (To keep with the analogy, we are buying beef in bulk and doing the portioning and cooking ourselves, so you want to trust the place you're getting all that beef from.)

I think below is an example of the OP's point (which I wondered myself while shopping for unflavored nic) :

$30 for 256 ml= 236 ml Unflavored Nicotine Juice USA made - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

$33 500ml for Our Unflavored Smoke Juice (Nic Juice, Nicotine Juice) - My Freedom Smokes

I have seen many here speak highly of MFS.......So are you saying since MFS is less in cost, its............. ?????

WL is often out of stock from what I have noticed. Is there a particular day of the week when the stock is refreshed on the site?

You can subscribe for a notification and they'll send you an email when they re-up. ;)

Firstly, I was under the impression we were discussing advertised prices. I didn't read that there were any resellers in this thread. Secondly, the lat time I spoke with WL, they had no offering of wholesale nicotine in place. That was six weeks ago. So if they have wholesale accounts for nicotine now, then fine. It was apparent that the person I quoted calculated the 500ml price x 3.79 liters.

From the left, my freedom smokes, vapor world, wizard labs.

My freedom smokes has the best container out of these three offerings.

Vapor world is super slow to deliver and their container and packing methods are highly suspect.

The wizard labs packaging was by far the best, the container is plastic, though of very good quality.

These are all 48mg/ml very clear, with the wizard labs being as near to odor free as I can tell. The two others are only mildly scented if at all, I'm not sure about actual nic content of any of them as I do not own a test kit.

Good read here guys (and gals). I just started getting back into reading up on DIY and am really considering giving it another go. I tried it about a year ago for about a 3 month trek, then quite. I couldn't seem to make anything I liked. Everything kinda had the same undertone taste I didn't like; and the taste wasn't in any of the store bought juices I was buying.

Money recently became a lot tighter around my house this year, which is why I’ve been looking into DIY again. After reading this I’m starting to think that my major issue before was bad NIC and PG\VG. It all kinda had a note of something unpleasant. Know matter what I couldn’t make anything good... even with just one flavor.

Wizard Labs seems to be coming up big in this post as to a good quality nic. Can you guys shoot me a couple more names that are just as good if not better? Also, I’m looking for a place to get good plain PG & VG as well. Is WL where everyone is picking that up also?

Are most all USP grade VG & PG the same?
