I have posted this before in other similar threads. Before covering, disabling, or even replacing smoke alarms, try taking them down and blowing them out with compressed air. Over time dust builds up in them and causes them to go off when even a slight air current moves through it even if there is no smoke. Ideally they should be cleaned once a year but for sure try cleaning it before doing anything else to them.
I was thinking the same thing. MTL vaping has never set off my photoelectric detectors, but I also have 10 foot ceilings on the first floor of my house and 9 foot ceilings on the second floor. By the time it rises a few feet it's dissipated. I could see how huge clouds of DTL vapor with high VG could do that, though.
Right time right place and yeah sensors are getting better, I set off a one dollar Mexican one (our FA loan people wanted one every 10 fet with a tiny little MTL puff and it' was just in the exact right place.
I should note this is an alarm that did not go off during the FIRE. All bets are off with vapor.
Hmm. In "new" rental house in Douglas (I cannot believe I have been here like almost a year! Or 9 months or something! Have not set off fire alarms yet.
