It killed the LT for me. I was waiting for the new LT 2.0 to arrive at Volcano for a couple of months. My YJ Lavatube had been acting up lately needing frequent contact cleaning routines and some trouble with the 510 connector threads loosening up. It still works but I don't know for how long.

So I decided to grab a vamo based on the reviews, figuring worst case I'd use it until I could get a LT 2.0 and then have a half decent backup PV.

After spending a good few days with the Vamo, I no longer feel the need or desire for a LT 2.0. Instead, I'm going to get at least one more for mini mode to take with me to work. The thing works great, feels solid, and the black chrome/gunmetal looks terrific. And the price point is just short of insane considering the feel and features.

Want to hear the funny part?

The electronics in the Volcano V2 and the Vamo are exactly the same - same factory, same everything except for variable wattage and a lower amp limit.

The pbusardo LT video was entertaining to me as well, was the exact same interface and screen but it is interesting to know its less amp limit than the vamo.... thats a slap in the face haha

LT 2.0 just came in too late with not enough stuff. Prices on the vamo are slowly going up (probably because of posts like this)which almost makes me want to buy another. My YJ 2.0 is fully in backup mode in the little velvet bag my vamo came in inside of a drawer not being used at all lol

I tossed between Provary and Vamo and now I got SS Vamo on the way. It was 1/4 price of the Provary, does the same stuff, they don't make you buy extended caps and crap so it can be used with different batteries, it's all there. If it lasts six month the next mod I'll buy will be still 1/4 of a price but will far out do by then outdated Provary.

I bought a Vamo from China and one from vaporbank after watching several of Busardo's reviews. He said the Vamo did literally everything and it's pretty clear price is not an issue. I ordered our first one on Christmas eve from vaporbank (which I already posted my review on the positive feedback thread). I had to wait a lot longer for the one from China. We have a friend that got a Provari the same week. I am impressed that the Vamo doesn't need extra parts for cone threading or different battery configurations. Our other friend brought in her Provari, two lavatubes, various bolt and box mods and I am still impressed by my Vamo. Also, the buttons on the Vamo/interface is much easier to use. I think the Vamo gets hate because people feel used that they payed 1 to 4 times as much for a device that doesn't preform as well for something you can order from China for 26$. I don't play into brand names much. Heck, I drive a volkswagen that out-performs most anything on the street. Plenty of people want to dog on it because it doesn't have a fancy sticker and I giggle at them in my rear-view mirror.

These will probably impact the Provari as well. I'm sure there will always be fanboys, but who wants to pay four times as much for a tube with half the functionality?

Well I can say for sure that you're getting more than 4 * the Quality and durability than these chinese mods which by the way will not be able to be fixed when a problem arises and believe me it's only a matter of time before something goes wrong with these I'll stick with my Provari

need to pop over to the PV forum and look at the amount of people who are still ordering them, till you own one you wont understand.
I own(ed) twists, bolt, telescope AND the new vamo, as well as a provari. the thrill of all the bells and whistles wore off in a week on the vamo. now i check resistance and change the voltage a little (hmm just like a provari) and thats it.

once the people who dont switch devices all day realize VW doesnt do anything for them the thrill will die off.

its not hard to change a device check the resistance and turn up the dang voltage, vari watts is just auto voltage this is more important for the small segment who RBA... or constantly changes devices all day long. not the guy who uses the same vivi nova every day.
and in the end 8 months from now when everyone is oooohing and ahhhhing over the new bla bla bla version 6 revision 32. my provari will work like it did on day one

I could not agree more the variable wattage feature didn't last more than a day for me I got bored with it and realized it was very played out I sold mine after less than 24 hours and now I'm still loving my Provari. VW gets too much hype.

There is no difference between vw and vv. I know a bold statement, but you need to understand ohms law. If you have a resistance of 2, and run your volts at 4 your using 8 watts. So if you set it to 8watts or set the volts to 4 to get 8 watts, its the same. I have a YJ2.0 that's a little over 2 months old, out of warranty that has a bad center pin. Its true I can buy 4 more but instead to invest my money into something that will last.

But you're missing the point. With VW you don't have to reset the volts every time you change cartos, attys, etc. Has nothing to do with Ohm's Law.

Thing with YJ is, they're total crap. Can't judge all inexpensive devices by that standard.

Huh. I've fixed a couple of these cheapies and they're still going strong. And Provari owners seem to send their units in for repair fairly regularly, so.... Guess it's just a matter of time, right?

I've never had to send in my Provari... I've had it for about a year and through the v2 upgrade. That was the only time I sent it in and it was voluntary.

I won't discount chinese mods for getting better. I mean, hell, I own a VAMO and I've owned quite a few lavatube-like devices but, if I was absolutely serious about needing a new VV device, I'd still buy a Provari. It has been very dependable and I've been happy with it.
