I doubt many people here would agree that this has been their experience.
It has been EXACTLY my experience with pretty much everybody i've tried to get interested in ecigs since I started 2 years ago. (I actually tried to get a buddy and his friend interested last night, they just totally tuned me out while they were puffing away on their cigs no matter what I tried to say to them. I gave up in the end and went home(I didn't go home because I was mad, I ran into them at 5 Guys yesterday and chatted for a while when they were all outside lighting up, showed them my Provari(because I had showed the one my eGo before and he said it was huge, to which I replied "Hah, wait till you see some of my flashlight sized ones") and then talked about vaping for a while. They were all looking at me like I had just escaped from the nut house so I went on my own way, happily vaping away while they were struggling to breathe and not hack up a lung. :D

but I thank you for sticking up for liberals,,,,,,,,,we are nice people too :D

Not sticking up for liberals or conservatives. I just don't like branding people with a label, and then narrowly assigning them a basket of characteristics based on a label.

People are just not that one-dimensional........it's shallow to think otherwise, and shows a lack of real insight into human beings.

In my life, I only meet individuals. They are as unique as snowflakes. :)

I have my doubts that vaping will ever overtake smoking world-wide; It has as much to do these days with the politics of the situation we're in than the actual number of people vaping, or even the popularity of our activity in and of itself...

Could vaping become a "force to be reckoned with"? Sure... But I wouldn't hold my breath, unless mainstream society really starts picking up on the positive aspects of it.

With BT getting into the game and more visibility with TV ads etc...... yes, I think that day will come. If the FDA leaves e-cigs alone, it'll come sooner rather than later.

For those that are getting the stink eye and "no thanks" reaction from smokers.... consider whether what you're saying would be considered nagging or not. Someone standing there smoking sees you as someone trying to get them to stop smoking. I just sit and vape happily away until they ask.... and most do eventually. No smoker has resisted saying something about the vape plume from my Zenesis. If they mention "quitting", I make it clear that I never wanted to stop smoking.... I'd just like to give myself a chance to stay out of the grave. I'm getting my nic... I'm getting my hand to mouth habit (although it's evolved from my 78mm ones)... and oh yeah, it tastes like COOKIES. That usually gets the "can I taste it?" Mission accomplished.

I don't push vaping on anyone. Not much different that pushing them to quit smoking and that used to make me very unhappy. Sooner or later everyone is going to have a family member, best friend, or rock star they like start vaping. That's when vaping is going to grow so fast that it will be hard for vendors and mfg to keep up. I think there will be a vaping explosion and ciggie smokers are going to feel left out.

I think if people think you are trying to get them interested too hard, they back off,,,,,it's instinctive,,,,,who likes used car salesman unless we are looking for a used car?

I just vape,,,,,,and let them come to me. I just spent 2 days at Disney world, and I had a ton of questions, looks, people listening to me telling others (when they asked),,,,,,

even if they don't TRY it,,,,,,they are watching,,,,and listening.

Perhaps someday...but I think that someday is pretty far off. Never mind the tax revenues tobacco brings in...you also have a ton of $$ changing hands between special interest groups and politicians. From there, you still have to educate the public in RE to harm reduction benefits of vaping vs smoking...no easy task IMHO.

I don't think it will ever overtake smoking simply because of the path people take to become vapers.

The vast majority of vapers started out as smokers. A certain percentage of that group goes on to become vapers. A percentage of those use vaping as a path to quit altogether. Based purely on numbers, I don't see the middle group ever overtaking the group that it comes out of.

I do see it becoming huge, and a mainstream thing as opposed to the kinda unusual frings thing that it is now, though.

Can't really say whether vaping will ever trump smoking. Barring any regulatory distortion of the market or more legal hurdles for vapers, I think that the combination of savings vs. smoking, better devices and more mainstream 'cultural' contact with vapers will make it more disruptive and cause many more conversions in some markets where those forces drive things, but it'll still be less common in others for some time.
