My sympathies. When I woke up this morning The first vape I took was a dry hit. I apparently vaped the last good one last night watching TV. That was a momentary eye opener.
Yup, same thing.
The routine is and old 510 battery with high nic when I crawl from the nest. Then I move to either a mech or regulated when ready.
This AM, I chose to move to the mech, for whatever coffeless reason. And I apparently followed the precise procedure as yourself, So take a full battery pop it in the mech, no , no way, don't bother to even take a peek at the wick.
POOOF, NASTY dry burning omgosh moment, which make the rest of the fam exclaim ' you should stop that' , and I told you so' or this morning, I got the 'take another pull skippy' hahahaha

    Somewhere between here and there
Not a bad price. I'll have to do some comparison shopping. Our current grinder is a Mr. Coffee with a broken safety tab, you have to use a toothpick to get it to work. Wife bought a different one on clearance somewhere but it did not hold a lot so we went back to the old trusty.

You could always cut out a step with something like this.

I've had one for a little over a year now. The only down side is that the grinder cup has to be cleaned before using again. It comes with a replaceable water filter too. I really like it.

    Nice brew box.
Myself I learned my lesson on the digital coffee maker. Burned more than once.
I stick to the grinder, and a straight outright coffee machine.
Which holds the water and is ready to spit a full pot in less than three minutes. Had mine for more than 6 years right now, pot after pot, coffee, done.

At that hour of the morning I'd probably pour water into the bean holder and beans into the water reservoir. I need to keep them separate for my own safety.
