Mornin' folks :)

I was going to go mix last night, but I was so tired and sore, I ended up laying on the couch and fell asleep....

Today is a little road-trip to visit SO's folks. Taking the fixin's for "Breakfast Pizza", so we'll have brunch ;)

Weather's gorgeous - hopefully it won't cloud over for the "Super-Blood-Moon-End-of-the-world-Eclipse" tonight. I may not make the next scheduled one in 20 years :)

If the sky is clear tonite, I am SO breaking out my telescope. Even binoculars are going to be amazing.

didn't know that - I measure everything - liquid and dry in an 8oz cup!!! Oh my - what did my mother teach me - LOL
But if they measure with a scale, liquid weight is heavier than the weight of flour. No?

He did say the measure by grams and ounces... I dunno...

Well the flavor percents need to be right and needs some steep time.
Mine have been steeped for months - lol. I am revisiting flavors that I didn't care for the first time!! I don't drip so I put it in a tank and then I cant get the flavor out of the tank no matter how many times I clean it - grrrrrrr

    been trying some of my juices and have to say im dissapointed with most
    the ones i have liked so far have been;
    -grape (FW)
    -peach (FW)
    -gauva (FW)
    -dragonfruit (FW)
    -bananalicious (found this recipe somewhere, i used whatever brands i had it has banana cream(TFA), vanilla custard (TFA), french vanilla (TFA) and banana (FW))

    i was not impressed with these stand alone flavours;
    -butterscotch (tfa)
    -Bavarian cream (FW)
    -pomegranate (LA)
    -banana (FW)

    or these recipes (clones) i found online;
    -Claim your throne (butterscotch (TFA), sweet cream (FW), vanilla custard (TFA), cinnamon sugar cookie (TFA))
    -mothers milk (cake batter (cap), raspberry (FW) [was supposed to be strawberry but i forgot to order it], sweet cream (FW), vanilla custard (TFA), bavarian cream (FW))
    -dragon blood (dragonfruit (FW), raspberry (FW) [was supposed to be strawberry but i forgot to order it],bavarian cream (FW), sweet cream (FW), french vanilla (TFA))

    im gonna give the flavours i dont like a week at a time before trying them again and see if they progress ive found alot of them sickly/sickening :/
    the flavours i liked i found awesome though haha so its not all negative, i have a feeling that the reason i dont like the mothers milk or dragon blood clone is because of the raspberry because its the same flavour in both that im finding bad so i might try them without it if they dont get any better and will look for a good strawberry :)
    just thought i would share my progress and ask for anyones oppinions or thoughts :)

    My mom studied dietetics when she was in college. I always remember her saying "A Pint's a Pound the world around", but no, it really isn't. You have measurements by weight or by volume. A pint of feathers sure isn't the same as a pound of feathers, right?

    But, I think most recipes are based on the volume measurement (unless you watch whackos like Alton Brown, and he measures his ingredients by weight. Don't get me wrong, love Alton, but he, like most of us here, is considerably left-of-center!)

    I see Robin had a question mark at the end of that statement. Your moma and my moma taught us the same thing :D
    Oh thank you - was ready to google it. I know my mom had a strange measuring cup that you pushed up the bottom to release the contents but I think that was for lard or Crisco - some kind of solids but I thought it was still 8 oz!!!

    THAT's why we really need to use metric. Not sure why we never made the switch, it was supposed to happen 30 years ago. It is so ridiculous to use the same name for a volume AND a weight, when they are only related to liquids like water. 8 LIQUID oz of water WEIGHS 8oz too. Popcorn, not so much.. lol.
