I bought 15' to start with.Never built one before and the guy at local shop will help on first nd there are plenty of reviews I've seen showing really how easy it could be.still would like you guys to let me know on average how wire...like how much wire do u use monthly? 1: What length of wire needed per coil build.
I guess it's at least 2 inches; 6 inches would be more comfortable; I might use a foot- definitely got enough;
I usually end up with more 'wasted' than used.
Also depends on whether you are wrapping by hand or if you have a coil jig.

2: How much wire used monthly.
So far over the last six+ months none of the coils I've made have needed replacing;
That's about 10+ coils; some of them being dual coils; most of them are 30 gauge.

So there is an initial startup where you might use a fair amount of wire while experimenting with coils but once you settle into a coil that you are happy with you shouldn't need to recoil often; I've settled into a 30 gauge 10 wrap 2mmID 2.4 ohm coil running at 6 volts

If you use Steam-Engine calculator it will tel you how much wire to start with. Add a little bit though, nothing is as sad as not having enough for one more wrap when the other coil is already done, LOL.

On average I think I use about 70-80mm for my duel coil builds.

:?)

It's a rip off buying kanthal from shops in person. You save so much ordering 100ft rolls online.

As far as how much. I take maybe 6 inches? for dual coils. In the last month vaping my unflavored e-juice I'd used maybe a foot of kanthal. I haven't had to rebuild since switching to unflavored since it doesn't destroy my coils like flavored e-juice does.

I typically use about a 5 inch length of wire per coil. All of my setups are dual coil right now and I use two attys all the time. I vape about 5-6 ml of juice per day.

I replace the coils about every 6-7 weeks, so I'm getting about 3 weeks if I were vaping one atty all the time. How clean your juice vapes is an important factor in how long coils last, because if you have to clean the coils every day you're going to wear them out a lot faster than if you only need to clean them weekly. My juice (and my vaping preference) requires me to clean the coils about every day and a half if I vape one atty all day.

I'll leave it to you to do the math for monthly wire use from here. It's not much though :)

I buy it at my local shop 100' for 13 bucks. yes I could get it cheaper online, but sometimes I prefer to spend in my local shop so they are willing to help me with issues down the line. Such as I bought my Sigelei online, but it started having issues where it would read my coil at .4ohms and then the next hit would be reading at 2.2ohms... trust me, 2.2 at 30w is NOT fun. I took it to my local shop and even though I didnt buy it there, they trouble shot it and ended up replacing it from their stock. Keep local shops happy and they will keep you happy. YMMV.

as to how much wire I use per coil, I normally just take one complete wrap off my spool even though I know I will only use a part of it. this just makes it easier to hold the wore while wrapping and working on the coil.

You will most likely go through a lot of wire while you practice and figure out what you want. Don't stress on how much length to use. You could cut off a big length, use what you need and save the rest if there's enough left. Use Steam engine to figure out what you'd like to try. Punch in the ohms you want and start playing with the gauge until you find the temperature and number of wraps you'd like.
