I have other uses :) Simple enough, if you torch it and there is white smoke, dont vape it. If it has a dull not shiny look, don't vape it. I am a hobby junky. If it is no go for vaping it will get put to use. Really, that is nice of you to offer though. I actually messaged them on ebay to verify though. Only because I bought the wrong gauge. Asked if it would be possible to get 1/8th non galvanized :D

Bringing this forward for anyone wasting time and money looking for the right stuff.

The rsst is just as good, if not better than the ac9. You are in PKs right? He is an awesome host. You will have that thing in your hands before you know it.
You might want to get a mech for the rsst though. They are the shiz for sub ohm vaping. Evic is limited at 15 watts and 1.2 ohms I believe. I had one. Was to much of a pita to use with genesis attys. Those v4s rock for dripping too, vivis.....meh....good for on the go. I do believe you got in for a protank from hola too right? those can be built with sub ohm coils and work great too. You have a problem too....haha
BTW, This is an awesome thread. I am done going off topic now. Don't wanna mess it up. Full of good info.

Just wondering, has anyone tried the 1/16th cable with an XC-116 ceramic sleeve down the whole length? If my assumptions are correct about the two materials it should give the strength of SS for coiling (not flimsy) and the amazing wicking / no fuss of ceramic. What would the OD look like on a setup with that material? Would it fit through the 3/32 hole in an AGA-T?

I'm quite happy with my current setup of a 3/32 with an XS-18 diaper but I feel as if the rope is eating too much heat.

I really like the SS rope with a mesh diaper and it vapes well for me but only about 3 or 4 days then seems to start to go down hill. I loose vapor production and flavor. Coils look good and no visible build up but just not as good as when it's new. Anyone else notice this? When I do a rebuild it's good again. I was expecting it to last longer. Also starts turning my juice really dark by the 4th day even when I refill the tank it will start to darken in 30 minutes unless I change the wick.

Yes, I need to know this stuff too lol
ShortyJacobs, thank you for this. I spoke to the vendor I ordered from who insured me that what I was getting is regular SS, not galvanized, and he is sending me 1/8th, but more of it because it is cheaper. Heck yeah! And I have more attys coming in real soon from a co op, guess I will actually use 3 feet or so just to wick all my atomizers lol

I haven't really dry burned it because the coil seems clean. How often should I dry burn? I can tilt the juice away from the wick and let it get dry and burn it or will I need to take it apart to clean it and put a new mesh wrap on it? Is there a easy cleaning method anyone has?

For me, any wick gets dirty after a day or two, (mesh, XC-116 ceramic, wire rope w/mesh). I vape darker juices, and there's just nothing like having a nice fresh atty.

With my rope wick gennies, every night or two I use a syringe to suck the juice out, (or vape it down to near nothing), rinse the top deck and exposed wick/coil with hot water, squirt a few plungerfulls of hot water into the tank, and suck the water back out. A few shakes to fling off drops, and then press the button until the coil glows red. as the burnt juice burns off entirely, it can sometimes make hotspots/shorts...pulse through those, it's not tough. When it is burnt clean, I typically give it a quick brush with a brush to knock off the ash. Sometimes, I give it another quick water rinse and burn, just to rinse off the ash and then to dry out the wick.

<4 minutes, I've timed it. I typically do it at the end of the day and fill the tank with whatever juice I feel like tomorrow.

If I don't do this, the flavor becomes muted, vapor decreases, you get burnt overtones, and juice darkens quickly in the tank. I do it pretty much every night, (I vape 4-5 mLs daily in my gennies), and after around 6 weeks I typically have to rewrap a coil. I've yet to have to use a new piece of wire rope, although the mesh "diaper" can get dodgy after a few months.
