I'm not saying be a big PITA, but when u do say something to him make it a positive statement. The more u care the more he will too, and want to vape not just because u wanted him to but because he will want to change to. I'm only two days into it so what do i know? lol

But having a clear throat/breathing way easier, and not smelling like a*$ makes me disgusted just thinking about smoking an anolog.

It's a bit like my wife losing weight. Positive encouragement and also letting her know that I want to spend the most time with her as possible and with the best possible chance of health!

None.

My husband and I decided to quit smoking together and he quit and I didn't. He never bugged me or said anything. I guess he wanted to live to see another day.

Maybe when he sees how great you're doing he'll give it a try in his own time.

Crazy. The same thing happened with me and my husband. We both vape but I also smoke. I really wish I could stop but it's not that simple for me. He doesn't seem to mind though. Once in a while he'll have a cigarette but it's pretty rare these days.

Honestly, if he nagged me about it or even hinted on a regular basis I'd get ...... off. It's a huge struggle for me and the pressure would tip me over the edge.

I don't know you or how long you smoked, but I smoked close to 30 years and for probably 25 of them I knew cigarettes were bad- terrible for me. It isn't a newsflash when someone points out how bad they are. And since they know I'm not mentally deficient, they know I know. So it does tend to make me question why they'd say anything.

I hate to be hard on smokers, considering I might be a battery charge away from being one again myself. I hope not but you never know. I just know that if I become one of 'those' ex-smokers I hope someone puts a plastic bag over my head. Nothing worse than a know-it-all ex-smoker. (not saying you are- but I'm sure you know the type I'm talking about).

My Dad told me to never give advice unless someone asks for it, and even then think twice. I'm all for telling someone about vaping- it's my favorite topic. But only if they ask.

With my experience of not having a cigarette for 3 weeks, smoked analogs for 3 days, I couldn't bare them I needed menthols while waiting for my replacement ecig. Maybe you've not stayed away from analogs long enough to experience a difference that'll convince you not to go back?

Whether you are christian or not, there is a great quote from the new testament which I can't recall but it's something like giving advice to people who gladly receive it and not to give your pearls of wisdom to swines as they will trample on them. Not calling anybody a swine by the way...

Oh I have. I've been smoking about 15 years. I've quit multiple times but I'll just talk about significant ones. I quit once with nicotine patches for 4 months. The next time I was using an e cig and quit for several months. Since I've gotten into e cigs my cigarette consumption fluctuates a lot. Eventually, I started having a cig here and there and now I'm smoking a pack a day again. It used to be 2 packs. I vape as well.

When I smoke I have a tendancy to have a cough and drainage. I know how good it feels to breath clear. I know how strong/bad the smell is when you don't smoke.

It's like what Swedishfish said... I know what I'm doing and I'm not proud of it. I sure as hell don't want someone pretending to offer polite/good advice I already know. When you hate yourself for something and your significant other talks about it, it's like salt on a wound.

I so much agree with that. There is so much self-loathing, and smokers are treated like crap- less than human.

I mentioned in another thread that another board I post in - someone mentioned they saw a guy driving a bakery truck with a cig and how outraged she was. Other posters told her she should call the company and report him because bread is being contaminated.

For real? You'd actually call up to get someone fired? No one seemed to have a problem with it. Well, except me.

Shame Phayah, I guess I would just hope everyone to have similar experiences than mine as my hatred for analogs have been since I discovered smoking them after my break from them and knowing the great feeling of replacing them with ecigs. I guess that's proof of us all being different. I may even vape till I die, although I hope I don't regularly at least, I wish you all the best with your battle if what you are doing is not what in your heart want to do...

I hate them too but for some screwed up reason I can't live without them. Not yet at least.

Swed, I love your responses and totally agree with everything.

Thing is, not a lot of people know this but there are more powerful addictive chemicals in real cigarettes than nicotine. This is something that manufacturers and governments don't let you know...

(Unless you can get him stuck in a no-smoking area for about 4 hours where you can vap)

You know... now that I think of it that might have helped in my husband's decision. My car has been no smoking since I bought it, but I was able to vape in it once I started and all my husband could do was sit helplessly and watch. (my car, my rules ;) )
