What is the time frame, if the worst comes to light, that the market will be shook up? I'm talking websites closing, product being removed, ETC. i'm curious if they find a way to somehow lump delivery systems/rdas/clearos /mechs etc into the tobacco product category.... Do you think as a community, our gear will become worth more, or next to nothing? Just been kicking around black market scenarios

There are some things that I don't think can be regulated. Batteries, chargers, kanthal, cotton, food flavoring, PG and VG. These are all used in other applications, and aren't solely meant for vaping. Anything with nicotine in it is likely to be, along with premixed e-liquids with 0 nic unless someone comes up with another "use" for it. Having to do so however, would likely drive a lot of vendors out of the market though. For equipment, I imagine they'll try and regulate anything where the sole purpose it vaping. Ego batteries, cigalikes (these will likely stay due to Big Tobacco anyway), cartos, coil heads, mods.... I have no idea on a time line. Big government tends to move slowly. In the meantime, along with joining CASAA and informing my representatives of my views and attending local events I've been stocking up on things that'll last and moved away from consumable items that are solely used for vaping. I've also been weaning myself down on nic levels.

edit: there was a lag between my typing this post and submitting. So, yeah, what Tinkiegrrl said with the difference being
I don't think mods/coils/clearos will be regulated out of existence.

I'm having a hard time seeing how hardware can be regulated with the possible exception of non-refillable cig-a-likes. Take tobacco pipes for example - those aren't regulated. Vaping hardware can reasonably be excluded from regulation due to being able to vape zero nic juice. Where I think possible regulation could have an impact is on the juice vendors. And, unless bulk nicotine is no longer available for DIY, or taxed beyond affordability, vaping will largely be unaffected.

IF deeming regulations pass as they are written, and IF a product didn't exist before Feb/2007 then that product will have to go through the approval process.

That's why I now only need batteries for my flashlight, wire for my hotwire cutters, and supplies to make candy.

So many unknowns about how this thing is going to play out. I worry about coils, and nic mainly. As for what will your gear be worth? How is one to go about selling the gear like Mods, atomizers, coils, and carto's, if in fact a ban ever occurs? One would have to know somebody who knew somebody kind of deal I guess. For me, my gear and consumables would be priceless in the event of a ban. Also priceless would be my supply of nic, bases, and flavorings. I already am re-building my coils for my atomizers, so they last for months each. But things do wear out, and break occasionally. I think the next year will be telling as to how far things may go, and what kind of panic buying/hoarding might happen as the progress of these deeming regulations continues forward. I would hate to see a situation occur in the vape marketplace like what happened to the ammo supply market in the US not too very long ago...

If the e-liquid trade is destroyed by regulation, then brick and mortars will disappear.
And if brick and mortars disappear the vaping market will shrink dramatically, or disappear altogether.

And if the vaping marking shrinks dramatically or disappears, then mods will no longer be produced by anyone.
