I would say shoot for a 1.5-1.6 ohm coil with 28 gauge kanthal. Or a 30 gauge micro coil at 1.6-1.8 ohm with cotton.

that's a lot of wraps with a 28g kanthal that's probably like 12 wraps, I usually do around 10 wraps. Do you find the flavor any different if you use 30g vs 28g? btw why not 29gauge then?

Use what you have I guess but stay around 1.6 ohms as it will allow you to get some range with the dna 20. Some have even stated to get it into the 2.5-3.0 ohm range. Now that would be crazy with a micro coil unless you have 35 gauge. LOL

For some reason I like the flavor from 28, but it could all be in my head I guess.

If you use a 1 ohm coil with the dna20 is the lowest wattage you can use 16 watts?

Sorry about that ... Did your parcel looks opened before?
I can tell you that every WAE was checked before shipping.
Send it back when you want, please send a mail to mark@markbugs.ro.

Mark78 - it's cool, and I have been using it, so I would rather keep it.

I am not sure if it was opened, there was just a return looking type paper in with it, and the tin in a plastic UPS bag. There was no white cardboard around the tin, like I had before, and no invoice?
Customs may have opened the package, because the WEA was not "snapped in" the liner in the tin, only one of the pieces was secured. It was rattling around in the tin when I took it from the UPS man. I said "Oh, that doesn't sound good" and he said "if there is any damage blah blah blah...". LOL
I guess it could have been WAY worse.

I rubbed some cotton on it, rubbed it all evening while using it with my thumb, and hit it really lightly with a polishing cloth. It's only noticeable now if you angle it in the light, so it's all good.
I will hang on to it and use it, but thank you for the offer. Knowing my luck I would mail it back, and it would get lost between here and Seattle.
Cheers :toast:

Not sure. But my russian 91 was built to a .97ohm coil and if I keep it at 7 watts it sends out 3.6 volts on a new battery. If I turn up the watts the voltage starts to go down and flashes 1ohm on the screen no matter what wattage it's at. It still hits awesome. Once I get my new russian 91 today I'll be building the coil higher.

Just want to stop in show mine off and now I know what all the craz is about I love this thing at first vape best mod I have ever owned. Also the battery bar go's empty then back sometimes. is this a problem I hope not I'm using 2brandnew awr imr bats so just wanted to know is this happening to other ppl?

I have noticed this with every one of my homemade DNA box mods. I thinks its a function of the board. Almost like it only checks the battery while being fired. So if it hasn't been fired for a minute and the screen goes blank, then you fire it again, it reads the battery life again and fills the indicator again.

nice where did you get that drip tip? and is that the nano tank? man I still trip out how tiny this mod is
Drip tip is off of a ikarus clone. It is a Mac nano tank from Cali vapers. She is small for a regulated device.

what range are you getting with a 1.8 ohm coil?

7w is like 3.3 volts. I've gone to 12w and it was like 4.8 volts too high for me. I keep it at 10.9w, Around 4.3 volts.

I thought the lowest output the dna20 chip can push is 4 volts to 8.3 volts? If the WAE still allows me to go down to 7 watts with a 1.3 to 1.5 ohm coil regulated that's perfect! :D

I was going by this: http://www.evolvapor.com/datasheet/dna20.pdf

Yeah. It says lowest ohm is 1 ohm and mine fires a .78 ohm no problems. It's all generic info.

so you can fire below 1 ohm and still vape at lowest watt setting of 7 watts? why do people recommend going higher so you can get more ranges?
