:shock: Butter tarts and Nanaimo Bars!!!

Two of my most favorite Canadian delights. I may have to grab them.
(lol... okay, butter tarts are probably British)
Can't say they are particularly - in fact, I'm pretty sure I never had one. Image looks a bit like a treacle tart though :)
I do know that Nanaimo is definitely Canadian as I have a friend there ;)

I'm hoping flavour descriptions are added.

Has anybody noticed that Wonder Flavours has a new super concentrates line?

Thanks! I needed some more Tahitian and chocolate, so also picked up some new ones including Nanaimo and Vanilla Cream Extra. If the latter is just like Tahitian but more concentrated I'll be so happy.

Nanaimo is a town in BC (on Vancouver Island). I've been there once and it's where I had my first Nanaimo Bar. It's layered into a square baking pan then cut into bars or cubes. It's very rich and sweet, not like Tiramisu at all but it's as good!

Nanaimo Bar Recipe
  • Bottom Layer. ½ cup unsalted butter (European style cultured) ¼ cup sugar. 5 tbsp. cocoa. 1 egg beaten. 1 ¼ cups graham wafer crumbs. ...
  • Second Layer. ½ cup unsalted butter. 2 Tbsp. and 2 Tsp. cream. 2 Tbsp. vanilla custard powder. ...
  • Third Layer. 4 squares semi-sweet chocolate (1 oz. each) 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter.

I ended up getting the Honey Roasted Peanuts as well as the Nanaimo Bars and Butter Tarts. My package is due tomorrow (Canada Post is well, crappy) :p
:D I was just up in Montreal for a King Crimson concert. I was thinkin' about WF as I walked around puffing on a chocolate milkshake vape that uses their chocolate chunks flavoring. Next time I may send them a message and see if I could tour the warehouse or something.

Chocolate milkshake!! I sure would love that recipe.
Can't link to it but I found it on the blocked recipe site, search for chocolate almond milkshake and sort by ratings. Should be one of the first. It's a spin-off of a diyordie recipe someone did to add almond. I just changed the chocolate to WF's and went with 5% of it. 's good :D

Been vaping this Nanaimo test at 4% 50/50 non-stop. I can't really describe every taste from it as it's young and I can tell it needs to age some as is typical with bakeries. But honestly I think it's gotta be the best chocolate I've ever had, even though there's more to it than that. And it's probably my favorite WF flavoring. If it only gets better with steep then this is basically a one-flavor ADV for me.

Thanks - I'm off to "distant forbidden shores" to find it. I did hear WF is coming out soon with a fudge flavor. :banana::banana:

Yeah me too, I needed a change. This is hitting the spot for me. I'm really excited for your feedback since you're familiar with Nanaimo bars which, if they are anything like this juice, they are the straw that broke the sloth's back. I've been thinking of going to western Canada this fall, and this may be the final push in that direction. LOL :D

So you mixed it up at 4%? WF suggests 2% to 4% so I guess I'll just go for the gusto and try it at 4% straight away.

Patiently awaiting the mail truck....

I've got to go into work this afternoon for a long boring meeting so I won't get a chance to mix this up until later tonight.

Yeah I went for 4%, I'd definitely go less in a mix but stand-alone it's quite nice at this level.

    Replace the Australian Chocolate (Hangsen) and Milk chocolate (INW) with Chocolate Chunks (WF) at 5% ?

    Nailed it :) I also made a version subbing Tahitian Vanilla Cream @ 4% for the VBIC and using 4% Chocolate Chunks instead of 5%, but, haven't tried it yet (I imagine it will be much better though)
