Hi, just wondering if anyone found the whole e-cig thing so bad that they went back to real cigs???

I guess they wouldn't be posting here if they did but mabe you know someone who did??

How about anyone who smokes both e cigs and real cigs?

I really pumped about getting my first e cigs and am kinda wondering if there going to live up to the hype.

However, the guy who turned me on to the e-cig experience never took to it himself. Go figure.

Unfortunately for me, that's the way it was with my buddy who got me started smoking analogs... he never really got hooked, and dropped them altogether a few months after his first - meanwhile, 17 years later, I'm still trying to quit (and thanks to my PV, I've finally been able to).

There are some on here that still smoke and vape. Some vape and snus. I continued to smoke for weeks after getting my PV. I did cut down gradually. I never looked at it like an all or nothing kind of thing anyway.

But since it is still a growing market, it will be tough to get good data for a survey... Then you have the problem of the uniformed that got one from a mall that only had a 6mg cart and they couldn't kick a 3 pack a day habit with it. Do they count?

You are already way ahead of most others by finding this site and getting information.

I'm still alternating between the PV and cigs. I normally smoke about once an hour, so now, my goal is to go at least two hours between cigs, and I let myself vape as much as I want between times. Sometimes I get panicky and don't make it two hours, and sometimes I go three to four hours between times, but I'm averaging about half what I smoked before I got the PV. There are many here who report that it took them months to completely transition to the PV.

I think that for at least some of us, there's a psychological dependency to overcome as well as the physical addiction. I believe that I will quit smoking eventually using my PV, but I'm not stressing about it at all because stress is one of my smoking triggers. :D So I'm just going to keep strolling along this path at my own pace until I reach my destination. I do pretty well in the determination department, but not so well in the willpower area. Luckily, this method of quitting doesn't take quite as much willpower.

Been vaping for a couple of months. Still on 3 or 4 cigs a day. I think this is a psychological thing. I actually threw one out half smoked because I wanted to vape. Getting close to the zen moment. I do a couple of Camel snus during the day to get the tobacco 'hit'. Pack a day for 40 years and down to this level is unbelievable for me. Tried everything.. I love to smoke ( and now vaping) and don't plan on quitting e-cigs for now. Maybe get the nic down after the cigs are gone...

I've been posting on my own early experiences in this area. My attitude wavers from vaping as a quitting tool and vaping as a radically cutting down (from 1+ ppd) tool, and this past week has found me a lot more earnest about the possibilities. A light day is maybe 4-5 cigarettes. A heavy day, maybe eight. Factors include lunch. Having discovered a smoking-OK restaurant in my part of Virginia (new law leaves a bit of room for that. Yay!), I haven't gotten comfortable about vaping in public. Plus I still love to smoke.

One thing I have discovered, though, is that an hour or so of chain-vaping sticks to the ribs (or rather, bloodstream or whatever). For me, lighting up w/in an hour of that is a good way to feel lousy. A good argument for vaping from sun to sun, I guess.

Are you all for quitting both the real cigs and the e cigs eventually or just switching to e cigs permanantly.

I quit real cigs about a month ago but I want a permanant solution to the Joys of Smoking without the health risks so I'm not planning on quitting the e cigs EVER if they're enjoyable.

My long term plan is to switch completely to the PV and then start lowering my nic level until I'm nic free. After that, I don't know. :) But I don't think I'll feel the push to quit like I do with cigs.

I've made it for almost 5 months but a friend of mine that i bought a kit for only made it about 3 days. I think it was a combination of stress, not getting enough nicotine and the constant charging of batteries that made her go back. And also maybe the fact that she lives right next to a store, so it is just easier to go there and buy cigarettes. It does take some upkeep and a commitment to vape, and i guess some people just can't do it. I tell her not to beat herself up over it, she can always try it again, but honestly i don't think she will. I am so grateful that it worked for me.

I'm using the pv now and no longer buying analogs. I was not a heavy smoker to begin with, and am happily enjoying vaping in front of the computer or tv at night, instead of running out to freeze on the porch.

My boyfriend, however, still needs the analogs but far far fewer of them. I think that once he gets a few different pvs that produce the right amount of vapor, flavor, and throat hit he'll give up the analogs.

He's still on the same pack he bought on Tuesday... so that's a good thing in my mind.

Every now and then I'll get a craving for a real cig but the thought of actually lighting one up on purpose, burning my eyes, stinking up everything, smelling raid, and not enjoying it even 1/1000's as much as my ecig is a great turn off. I also enjoy the shopping! Shopping has been prohibited for so long, because I couldn't even afford 1 pack of smokes let alone 2 and 3 a day. Now that I'm analog free, I get to shop for ejuice and attys and save up for that extreme Mod, and so forth. I'm so happy, I get to share my money with people, support people, spread the cash around to good people. Those stingy cig people will never ever see another dime from me!! But, yes, the analogs are easier at this point in time... but they won't be easier by this time tomorrow what with all the modifying and inventing going on each and every day. We're looking at Automatic Drip Systems, Tesla Filters, ScottyBee's awesome drip spout thingie invention, T-Tips, .... and this is just a few and just the beginning of greater things yet to come. And the flavors... oh my, the flavors. Must go buy some Butterscotch now.

I have 2 triggers for analogs alcohol and drunks. When I drink I tend to smoke a few cigs, then oddly usually hit my PV right after. Then working in a nonsmoking bar I am allowed to use my PV but then have to explain it to drunks 20 times a night and it gets old, so I will just smoke a couple of cigs to get me through the night. All n all a pack+ a day habit went down to about a pack a week. I will have better luck when I get a better job and will be completely free. Also 90% of our customers smoke so I have to smell it all night, and when i have a few cigs I don't smell it anymore.

I was a proud, committed and dedicated smoker who rolled his own and loved the whole experience. I started smoking at the age of 9 because I loved the smell of the cigar that a business man would smoke each morning at the bus stop where I caught the bus to school. None of my family has ever smoked so I started mowing lawns in my neighborhood so I could buy cigarettes. I did not miss a single day and smoked heavily for the next 34 years. I enjoyed every single cigarette I smoked and never even thought of quitting.

Vaping came along because I was looking for a supplement. I fly two or three times a week and spend a lot of time in meetings I often had to go longer than I liked without a smoke and thought that this would be a great way to be able to smoke more in more places. I researched and when I saw a video on u-tube of a guys first e-smoke where he took a puff, coughed and his face broke out in the BIGGEST smile I thought WOW!!! There could be something to this.

I had a rethink. Took into account my age and considered the health benefits. And thought I'd have my first ever crack at quitting. For the first time in my memory I can now understand how bad a smoker smells. I am sooooo rapped with vaping and could not ever see myself going back to smoking. I've tried a cigarette again and was disgusted!!!
