I got water in one of mine trying to change flavors by rinsing the tank out with water. I thought I was very careful, but I did not have the coil base installed, and that can apparently let liquid into where it shouldn't be and it died. The eGrip is a great idea, having everything in a small, self contained unit, but it's shortcomings can become quickly apparent when trying to clean it.

Mine did not come back after waiting as long as a week and I ended up tossing it.

The good news, is that I've read of others coming back to life. So I'd wait a bit before throwing in the towel.

You never know. A year ago, i had an iPad, and it decided to go swimming in a bucket of water while it was on.

Was still on 3 seconds later when I fished it out.

Was on as I removed the cover ( not at all waterproof or resistant.) and shut it off

A millisecond before I hit the switch, it went off.

Shook it dry. Towel dried it stuck it in a bag of rice for a week.

Took it to a repair place.

Their verdict : toast

They asked me if I wanted it left open to sell the parts inside not damaged on ebay. I said yes.

A week later, I'm home alone, and I start hearing a voice.

Look around, here it's my ipad which while still opened a crack, was on and trying to connect to the internet.

The only thing ended up wrong was the button with the square on it stopped working in about a month, but no biggie, there is a software workaround in the accessibility settings.

I have typed all of this on said aforementioned iPad.
