I meant any 9000ft alpine lake. I am not exactly sure where I am going this year yet.
The picture is Strawberry Lake, CA in Sierra National Forest. There is climbing in the area. There is also a 4x4 trail going to this lake and not a hiking trail. Here is a review I did of the trail. Gentry Off Road - California - Sierra National Forest - Strawberry Lake OHV - By whokrz

If I had to make these 40 hours a week I think the quality would stay the same, but I don't think it would be fun anymore.

I actually took a 1 week backpacking trip up there last year. Very nice area!

Cool, there are some nice lakes up there. I haven't been up there in about 30 years so I would have to look at a map to remember the names of the lakes I went to. I remember it being a steep hike the last few miles though. My best hike was a 70 miler in the Emigrant Wilderness. I went in at Cherry Lake Trailhead and did a big loop up to Huckleberry and Little Bear Lake and cross countried over to Yosemite and Jack Main Canyon trail back around by Hetch Hetchey. It would be awesome to do the Kennedy Meadows to Mt Whitney Hike but alas I'm too old now. lol:tumble:

That sounds like a awesome trip. I was to cherry lake when I was little. I caught my first fish(blue gill) there off the dock. I was so proud of my self :D
There is always car camping. There are pretty nice places not to far from your location.
Was the trip you just got back from your yearly salmon trip? I am not sure when they actually run. I mostly fish for trout in the mountains.

No I was back in Texas spending the last few days of my moms life and then her funeral. She was 92 and had a full life but I will still miss her. She still skyped me a couple of times a week right up until her last couple of weeks.

I will be going camping and Salmon fishing in July down in Ca. in the Redwoods and fishing out of Trinidad. It is a great area but no alpine lakes. lol

I loved fishing for my lunch when I backpacked up in the Sierras. I caught a couple of Golden trout on that hike i was telling you about.

Y'all ever give any thought to making something like this in Lewis' uber special woods?

And no, not for me! Just think as pretty as this UK mod is, Lewis could take it to another level.
touchwood_ecigs_18650.jpg

Hi guys recently put a order in for one of Lewis's fine xl3 mods
This mod is a touchwood, I have one and it's fantastic, but I bought mine only just before I found out about Lewis's mods, so now I will soon have two beautiful wood mods (what recession.). I like the brass end caps on the touchwood and I think the brass would really look amazing on one of Lewis's. The touchwood is finished with teak oil I think, and in order to keep it shiny I have to regularly clean it, apply more oil and brasso rub the end caps, but I kinda like to maintain it. I wonder if there are any brass end caps that'll fit the xl3?
i certainly think the crazy glue finish certainly will look better but I'm having some reservations about its fragility and how it effects the wood. Reassure me

If I ever get a box mod, it will be a touchwood.

4forksache , the finish is a lot tougher than Discount Vapors site would infer IMO. I have two of Lewis' mods, and both are still flawless. Mine has hit the floor a couple of times now with no damage. Where the finish can be ruined beyond mere scratches, is if the wood is hit hard enough to actually dent the wood. That will cause the finish to fog over. Most of his mods are made with stabilized wood meaning it has been pressure treated with acrylic resin. This makes the underlying wood quite hard and dense, so it resist denting.

Lewis, do you think you could do a mod out of an eGo C Twist?
It looks like it may be possible. The trick would be pulling it apart down to a blank tube and then putting it all back together again. I would assume the parts are just pressed into the tube like the gogo and riva, however I have not pulled apart any egos yet.

Sorry to hear about your mom.
Do you fish on a river or out it the ocean?
I am a fan of fishing for food when backpacking. It allows me to carry less food/weight. Sometimes I don't always get all I want to eat thought.

Thanks Big Screen D, that just about covers the CA
I can also remove and reapply the CA finish. Each time this is done some wood is removed. Eventually you will run out of wood at the ends of the tube.
There is also close up pictures a few pages back of the mod that Lorddavon tested in the video. All of this damage was repairable.
One draw back to the CA finish is that every little thing shows up when you look at it up close due to the finish catching the light. With finishes that do not look as nice small dings and scratches are not nearly as noticeable even though they are still there.
I will also be making these in acrylic in the near future. I think these will will hold up a little better but they will still have there limits.
I don't think the XL3 is available in brass, but I could be wrong I am sure Eric would know. The riva had a brass plating, but it is small and not modular.

Then new 1/16 inch parting tool works great.
70A 3/16" ID, 5/16" OD, 1/16" width o-ring seems to work perfect.
I am also send you the following
1@ 70A 3/16" ID, 5/16" OD, 1/16" width o-ring (extra of original)
1@ 70A 7/32" ID, 11/32" OD, 1/16" width o-ring (slightly larger)
2@ 70A 5/32" ID, 9/32" OD, 1/" width o-ring (slightly smaller and also may fit your wife's tip)

Lewis- I can't even begin to tell you how beautiful this mod is- I'm so excited about the tank and drip tip, especially after seeing the beauty you just turned for big screen d! You're an incredible artist! Thank you so much for sharing your passion with us!
Also, it's amazing how much trouble you can get yourself into when you mix a girlfriend away or a week and beautiful mods ... ;) at least it's just mods that I'm getting into trouble with
Thanks
Also I think in the long run mods are cheaper :D
