Thank you every one :D

I only have two tanks. The stone tank and DCT. These both fit inside the tank cone. If someone would like it to be wider/narrower taller/shorter to fit a different size tank I should be able to drill it out to their specifications. It would probably be better if the tank was mailed to me that way it could be tested as it was being turned.

Thanks Lewis...I just ordered some Apollo tanks from Eric, was wondering can you do one to fit around those. This is the wood mod you would be working on next week with the A&B woods vs the C that I was gonna get. The 5 piece with Thuya Burl. If not, no big as I also have a couple DCT's but thought it may be interesting to say the least. Thanks.

I could drill out the cone slightly larger than the Apollo tank so that it would fit inside. The only problem I see is that the Apollo tank is tapered. This might look weird if it comes most of the way up the tank, because there would be a large gap between the inside of the cone and the top section of the tank. If the cone covered about 2/3 of the tank it should eliminate the large gap. This would leave the top 1/3 of tank with out any wood. The tank tip we talked about would also be to wide for the Apollo tank so a standard tip would be needed.

I thought about making a drip tip/cap for the top of the tank cone but it would cut off the air to the tank.

No worries, just was checking, I knew you would have a better vision of it, so the normal DCT works fine...thanks for the input though. I may get you to do a cone for a large pyrex tank I got from Siam but that will be at a later date. So we are go for the DCT then? Can't wait myself, thanks Lewis!

I am not exactly sure yet. All I know for sure is that a 7/8 brad point bit makes a perfect hole in the blank.
On my lava tube the top cap and 510 housing are broken.
For the bottom I am thinking of drilling out the blank to 7/8 and have it hang down past the battery cover so the cover will not be as noticeable. It will also allow for a wider base to hopefully increase stability when stood on end.
For the top I am thinking of drilling a 7/8 hole to go around the tube and then a hole the width of a stone tank. This will hopefully protect the 510 housing that fails every time I drop it. It will also give me a place to put the center of the lathe so I can turn it. I am not really sure how I am going to attach the 510 housing yet. I really hope it will work because I miss my LT.
After I finish valcityboy's mod I will start working on it.

Please keep us informed on how it goes. I may be interested in having an LT covered with wood if it doesn't break the bank. :) I would just freak if I had a LT done like autumnwolf's mod. That one is spectacular.

A .... hole...
Thanks,
Here is the link where you can order if you like.
LG Custom Order Wood Mod

As much as i want to, the chances of it not being able to pass my country custom is rather high due to the restriction on e-cig thus only leaving me able to admire his work... It's simply beautiful... reminds me of my grandfather who are a carpenter and did lathing during his time... i was so young back then when i saw him doing that...

This is easily bypassed as the customs description would read "LG Wood Mod"
if it's opened up, they will see something like that and not in a million years thing electronic cigarettes :)

To be safer, (if you do order) choose Express shipping, I have never had a package held when sent Express.

Thanks man for the "tip"! :)
Shall save up for one since I'm just started out on ego t few days back.
Definitely one of the mechanic mod (pardon me but it seems like one to me based on my limited knowledge) that caught my eyes and desire to own one!
Till the day come, will be enjoying all the proud owners of this mod posting their prized possession!

I think so too Tumbleweed! Lewis - I got it today! I literally did not put it down all day long - if my work friends didn't already think I'm crazy, trust me they do now! I know at least 4 people caught me caressing this!! And I don't care!

Anyway, I have to find my good camera to get some pictures taken, but I just want to say this mod is BEYOND EXQUISITE! The craftsmanship is perfection - even Lewis' great pictures do not do it justice. It feels like butter in my hand - and by the way - it fits in my hand like it was precisely measured specifically to fit my hand. I am just entralled and mesmerized by the beauty of this piece. It looks like a priceless heirloom and that's how I feel about it. Thank you Thank you Thank you!! I am even thinking about possibly doing <gulp> a video review. We'll see if I can overcome my shyness...

If anyone has any doubts about getting one of these...do not hesitate - I guarantee you will end up with a phenomenal, lovingly handcrafted work of art.
