A few tips I have been working on. They are the same comfort style that Kevin's Provari came with. The center tip is from a stone tank so you can see the size difference.

Yes, they can be made in that style.
As long as the tools can reach to cut the acrylic and the piece of acrylic is large enough I should be able to do most any style. These tips were made from acrylic pen blanks which are 3/4 x 5.
Here are a few links to different acrylics pen blanks
Acrylic Acetate Pen Blanks - WoodTurningz
Inlace Acrylester Pen Blanks - WoodTurningz
Genesis Pen Blanks - WoodTurningz
Glow in the dark acrylic Glow Stonez Pen Blanks - WoodTurningz
Tru-stone Imitation Block,rough turquoise,beads
M3 M3 Metal Pen Blanks Turn on Wood Lathe
Basically if it is a pen blank it can be a drip tip.

I really need to make a new picture box... That pink tip is actually purple. If you hold the tip right in the light it does look pink but 99% of its life it will look purple. I need to figure out a good way to have a nice bright picture with out to much light.....that is possible right?

Lewis. You and I need to have a CHAT!
Sure about what?

Lewis there isn't any leakage at all with the new Vision Vivi Nova you turned!
That is great news. Thanks again for testing the Vivi nova. Looking at the plastic tube of the Vivi nova it looks like I should be able turn it as well, which should help to keep the cost lower.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Glad you like the pictures.
Next time I am taking pictures I will take a few of the picture box.

For the old box I used a old egg crate. Used a black t-shirt on the inside held in place with a metal coat hanger. A 12x12 black tile on the floor which also held down the shirt. A white plate sat on top of the crate with a little hanging off the edge. I clamped 2 clear incandescent lights on the side of the crate and bounced the light off the plate which reflected down onto the mod but kept the back of the box dark. I found that the problem with this design was having the light to close to the mod even though it was reflected. It played tricks with the CA and the acrylic and I am still not sure why. I even tried different bulbs and reflecting it off of just the shirt which didn't help much. The camera I used in the old pictures was my Cannon Rebel XTi with a open lens.

On the new box I cut 2/3 of the top out. The light source is the large florescent light above my lathe. The light shines down pretty bright from about 3 feet up. Having the light source ~3 feet away does not play tricks with the CA and acrylic, I still not sure why but it works. Having 1/3 of the top still covered keeps the back of the box in shadows for a back drop.

To the Cannon I added a circular polarizer over the lens and put on my sun cover to keep any light off of the lens. I set the camera on a tripod because I don't have much room on the bench. The camera settings are time delay/mirror lockup(so the camera doesn't move as I push the button), 5 sec exposure, F25(so everything is in focus), ISO 1600 and White Balance is Tungsten light 3200k.

Im soo excited, that its done and coming home!
I cant say enough about your outstanding artistry
You have made me an extremely happy vapor:D
A extremely happy vapor is a good thing, great to hear that you like it :D

Wow another beauty Lewis!! My Vivi Nova tank is still holding up good with no leaks at all.
Good to hear that it is holding up well. Muldemar's Vivi has the plastic tube inside. The plastic doesn't seem to deform like the aluminum for some reason.

Hi Whokrz,

Congratulations for your fabulous work ! I especially like the intricate patterns created by the elder box burl after sanding and high loss finish. That is not seen elsewhere on any mod I know of.
I was wondering why the shape of these wood shells are not cylindrical but rounded. Is it that the tickness of wood would be insufficient to make it resistant enough or a wish of design?

Your tips are pretty amazing too. Do you sell them exclusively through Discount Vapors? I ask the question because I live in Europe and the shipping costs proposed by the website are prohibitive when ordering just a drip tip (16.5 usd through USPS International Priority Mail). In my opinion there should be a way to ship through USPS International First Class mail, for a third of the price. I'd then be buying in a click :)

Thanks,
I just like the barrel shape and how the light reflects off of the curve in almost any light. Customers are also welcome to choose their own shapes. The wood can be cut very thin if desired, but depending on the design it may be fragile.

Yes, I sell everything through Discount Vapors. I do not take care of any over seas shipping. Eric should be able to answer any questions you have. His user name on this forum is gormly.
