Although it has no direct correlation, it's easy to understand why the FDA wants to shut us down. Big tobacco is huge. HUGE. Far bigger than most of you realize. They own Kraft foods, numerous petrol companies and are also involved in pharmacuticals.

Big tobacco pours a TON of money into informing the public on what is legal and what is not.

Fun fact: The number of tobacco-related deaths (2,200 per day) is bigger than murder, suicide, ....... overdose, ...... overdose, drunk driving, liver cancer (alcohol) and HIV/AIDS.. COMBINED.

Think about it.

You can't compare tobacco related deaths to things like suicide or motoring deaths. murder..etc......unless you did a comparison by 'age' .........like what are the chances of a 30 year old dyeing of a smoking related disease to being murdered, or dyeing in a car accident........I would never say smoking is good for anyone but the statistics for how many people it 'kills' are always way too badly presented to have any possible meaning.

That certainly could be true. Also true, tobacco-related deaths stats come come from an untested algorithm, a modeling guesstimate, that's been touted as fact for years. There is no tracking of "tobacco-related deaths" and never has been.

while I in no way am saying smoking is good for you

this is a list of some smoking deaths....

I actually watched that documentary (American Drug War: The Last White Hope) and it was depressing. Basically the people who are in charge of enforcing the drug laws know that it is not winnable war, but to call of the war would mean them losing jobs. Plus they all know that funding will never dry up, so who's to stop them? What surprises me is that big tobacco isn't embracing personal vaporises and developing their own. I remember when Colorado tried legalizing marijuana (2004 I think) big tobacco started getting trade marks on different strains of marijuana to get a corner in the market. What gives? Why wouldn't they try and develop something so similar to their products?

great clip plastick, thank you.

"George Carlin died today, he was 71" = the seven words nobody ever wanted to hear on television. (we miss you George)

I loved his 7 dwarves spiel - I mourned when I heard that Carlin had died - but he's probably got God and the Angels rolling on the clouds by now.

My favorite articles are the ones that have the "yearly death toll from smoking" greater than the actual number of all yearly deaths.
