I quit smoking legacy cigarettes about 6 months ago. I still get fierce cravings to smoke almost everyday. I don't believe it is the nicotine that I am craving, but rather the act of smoking. This is what turned me on to the whole e-smoking thing.

My equipment has not arrived yet, so I have no idea if e-smoking will fill the void. I certainly hope it does.

Anyway, I believe I'm after what is referred to as the "throat hit". I'm guessing that means the little pleasure pain sensation in the back of the throat one gets when inhaling smoke. If I can get that from vaping, I think I'll be set.

Here's my problem though, I already quit, so I'm not really interested in reviving my addiction to nicotine. I ordered several non-nicotine juices, but am worried they won't give me the "throat hit" that I'm after. I've read that they don't give you the same throat hit experience.

I ordered some 510 equipment as I've read that gives the best throat hit. Is there anything else I can do to maximize the throat hit? I've read that the higher voltage equipment helps, but I went with 3.7 volt equipment, for ease of use. Was that a mistake?

Am I fighting a losing battle? Will I have to give in to nicotine to get the sensation I'm after?

Thanks

a 5v passthru (one without a battery) is gonna give the best throat hit,, i like my 6v flashlight mod.

to get the sensation of nic hitting the back of your throat with out the nic might be to cut your liquid with some PURE GRAIN ALCOHOL or atleast 151. try mixing a few mililiters and adding drops of alcohol till you find a suitable mix.

3.7v may be high enough especially if your not nic dependent, all you can do is try and see.. most of my friends prefer either 3.7 or 5,,, but i NEED 6v ;)

In my searching/reading here on the board, I have found several posters in the modders section that have added alchohol to their juice to get a better throat hit.

I would suggest that you do some searching and find what works for you. I am sue a more versed vaper will be a long shortly to better point you in the right direction as well.

The 510 provides good throat hit, you'll be happy.

If not, get a mod like the Silver Bullet, Prodigy, GG-T, VP2 or the like and vape at 5v or 6v using your 510 atty and you'll know exactly what throat hit really is.

It also depends on your juice selections as well, some hit better than others.

Yea, that's what I figured. I'd prefer to use the simpler devices and stick with single 14500s, but if that doesn't do it for me I'll go high voltage.

I don't need to be slammed in the back of the throat, but I'll need some sort of sensation to be satisfied.

I ordered a bunch of different no-nic goo. So I'll be able to try different stuff.

The alcohol flavors are particularly good for that. Try whiskey. I have never tried 0 nic, but the whiskey pulls more of a flavor punch than most.

PGA in a faily high concentration will give a throat hit.

90% PGA gives a nice throat hit but overloads my throat hit receptors after awhile.
50/50 PGA/VG gives me a very mild throat hit with no side effects.
50%PGA 6mg nicotine gives me a nice throat hit on a good PV.

In my experience nicotine is not nearly as addictive as analogs are.

I've stopped PGA mixes for now.
If I mix PGA strong enough for throat hit it will deaden my throat hit receptors after a few minutes.
I feel better about alcohol free mixes in my pocket while on the road; nuttin to splain to occifer..
Jury still out on VG:pG:pGA:H2O ratios; which dries my mouth the least.

Good news is I found coolness of strong menthol juice is good substitute for throat hit.
Took me a long time.
My previous two premixed menthol juices were not good enough; almost gave up on menthol.
