Hi everyone , I'm new to vaping and absolutely love it! I've been smoke free for 8 days now and it's been incredibly easy and downright enjoyable with vaping! I'm hooked I love all the great flavors and I'm very happy! What has me worried is when I see all these places trying to ban the sale of juice a fear comes over me! What if they susceed? That would be the worst thing I can imagine as I buy most my juice online. I see California where I live is trying to ban online sales which scares the heck out of me! I feel I just got started and I can finally breathe and smell and I'd hate more than anything to have to go back to smoking! What if these ridiculous bans pass? I shiver at the thought. Finally something that works and they want to ban it! How crazy is that.! I don't want to give up vaping and guess I'll just have to be a outlaw if it's banned but it's ridiculous to put people who vape in that situation! Are they truly blind? Can't they see its helping people?

You are not alone in your worries. Many of us have become very active in the fight against ecig legislation. Perhaps you want to become involved as well?? CASAA is an awesome place to start becoming more informed. I became a member a couple months ago and also joined their facebook group which is great for staying up to date with the latest news. The facebook group constantly updates me with the latest petitions I can sign, as well as pointing out specific people/groups who are unfairly targeting the ecig industry. I used to be anti-twitter, but I have finally found a use for it... it has allowed me to be more vocal about how ecigs have transformed my life, as well as the ability to voice my concerns to those trying to stifle this amazing trend of people looking for healthier alternatives to smoking. Here is the facebook link for CASAA... They can direct you to their website to join as a member if you cant find it on your own. https://www.facebook.com/groups/casaamembers/

It won't. More likely, they'll tell vendors they want child lock caps on everything, warning labels, and, last but certainly not least, they're tax money. That will be the "compromise" after all the saber rattling and ridiculous ban talk. Not to say this won't hurt the industry. It will def bar some people from entering into the industry and likely hand a lot of business over to big tobacco. It won't disappear though. It's a money maker and the government wants a piece.

Hi

First, congrats on getting there! Doesn't this work a lot better than conventional NRT?

I know this whole "ban", "regulate" "tax it to death" matter causes anxiety. But keep in mind that except for regional, somewhat ineffective, bans the big issues like regulation and the FDA actually taking a stand have been spinning wheels for years on end and not got anywhere.

The best approach is to be pro-active. See that yellow box up there at the top of every page? That's one way to keep on top of hot topics regarding what is going on with regional legislation. That will lead you to who needs to be contacted to make sure your voice is heard at these meetings and decisions being made - whether you like it or not. Consider becoming a member of CASAA - it doesn't cost anything. Beyond CASAA being our voice when we can't represent ourselves in FDA meetings etc. it helps to have a collective voice. If a CASAA member has to go to Washington I want that representative to be able to say they are representing as large a number of members as possible.

I agree with you. There is too much money involved for vaping to disappear.

There are 100's if not a maybe even thousands of new business ventures in the vaping ecig market, mostly small biz ma and pa type. I don't see government getting overly proactive in too much regulation. But one problems remains, because government might intervene, there does not seem to be a lot of investment venture capital that people want to put at risk, in new IPO's for ecig companies. At a time when pot is being legalized, it only would seem for government to regulate ecig's extensively, to be ultimate hypocrisy , which is why I think government has pretty much stayed out of too much regulation. (BTW, I had a guy from Idaho tell me one time, if someone smoked too much pot, they would grow a tumor right out of their chest or stomach. Hope he is not right with the legalization of pot.)
