I didn't really find it too tough once I replaced one of the post screws that was effed up. Not saying the easiest deck, but had a lot worse [emoji41]
Heard it said filing them down to make them good and flat helps. Was concerned I might have to do that, but I've only put the one coil in and mine look pretty flat. I highly doubt the flatness was a concern in manufacturing so I'm guessing this is why some have a harder time with thinner wire than others.

Most of you guys build 2.5mm or 3mm id coil? How's the wick? Short tail or long tail? I'm struggling to find the best build with no dry hits..

I set my wick tails to rest on top of the juice channels, tails spread out to cover the base. I've tried putting the wick in the juice channels, but wicking wasn't on level and got weak/dry hits.
For preparing the wick I use the Scottish roll technique.
I build 2.5 mm coils, rarely 3mm.

I have had more success with a 3mm coil with plenty of wicking width-wise and just enough length-wise to bottom out.

That's just me though and I'm a notorious MTL vaper so keep that in mind.

That's annoying. What kind of cool, ID, and wick type?
28g kanthal, 1.5ohm, 3mm ID, Koh Gen Do ... Org Cotton -loose, tight, scottish -tried several methods. For over a week, no matter what I've done, it either leaks and vapes great, or doesn't leak and gives dry hits above 17-18 watts. Yes, very annoying. Using my Bachelor Nano this morning. Might try again in a while. Maybe I'll try and take some pics to post up.

I've been using a serpent mini for the past 3 days and I think its a pretty awesome tank. However one thing that is really bothering me is my top fill top cap. Every hour, 2-3 beads of e-liquid form around the top cap. I cant understand why either. I get zero leaking from the AFC or anywhere else, its only the top cap. I feel like im missing an o-ring, but I am not. Is this a common problem with the serpent mini?

You've got the larger of the two inside the top-cap?

Perhaps it's damaged or just rolled/twisted. Pull it... have a look.

I pulled it and looked and to my eyes everything seems fine.

Maybe you would have a better chance spotting as my eyes arent that great.

Also, what do you mean the larger of the two inside the top-cap?

Heres some pics :

I can't tell anything from the pics, sorry.

The small stump in the middle for the chimney has a ring.
The large circle of metal for the filling cut-outs has a ring as well... get a toothpick or smooth metal pick and pull that larger o-ring. Check for damage or just smooth it out if it's fine. Pop it back on and see what's what.

Looks like we may have different versions of the Lil' Serpent on the market as well.

My filling cut-outs are rougher than yours and not as heavily radiused at the ends.

oh dear thats kind of annoying if i have a different revision or something. Maybe my revision has this problem? No idea I suppose.

I replaced both the o-rings on the top cap and wiped my top cap innards dry before filling again just a moment ago.

Everything so far, granted its been 15 minutes, but I have not seen any liquid come from the top cap. The other thing is when I filled from the top, I was extremely careful not to get any liquid on the two steel bars connected to the kidney shaped fill holes. I think because maybe when I was filling, I was squirting juice all over those 2 steel beams so when I closed the top cap, it was pressurizing the residual liquid through.

I will test for another day and see what happens.

Just an update on this tank.

So after I filled using some precautions mentioned in my previous post I have not had any e-juice come from my top cap, I am very happy!

I want to say that I rebuilt my serpent mini just now with a twisted 27 gauge coil. 1.10 ohm 3mm diameter.

I cannot believe how much flavour this tank has, I have an authentic kayfun 5 sitting right next to me and the serpent mini blows the kayfun 5 out of the ballpark.

I have not experienced this kind of flavour out of a tank in 4 years of vaping.

Now that I have no leaks anywhere, I cant help but rate this tank 11/10.

I just purchased 2 more, and will probably sell my kayfun 5.

Thats how I do it. I use a 2.5mm id 26g space coil btw. I just use a strip of muji cotton and pull it through the coil, cut it on the lenght of the bottom o-ring. Then I juice it up a little... not too much! Then i push the wick agains the walls and in the juice channel. The wick should rest only in the top part of the juice channel where it is slightly bigger. If it is too long in the channel I trim it, but only there... Works like a charm for me.

I got the Serpent Mini shortly before Svoe Mesto announced the KF5 and was a bit disappointed because I got the SM... do you MTL on both tanks or DTL?
