Ok, I haven't read the entire thread, but here's my take...

Nicotine has been under attack in the EU. Some governments have put forward silly axcise duties on nicotine containing e-liquids just because the TPD allows them to. In Portugal, for instance, they created a tax of 0.60 € per ml, which equals the utterly idiotic sum of 18 € more on any silly little bottle of e-liquid, unless it's 0 mg. Spain has been much more sensible with its tax. Italy has advanced an excise duty which included 0 mg juices, fortunately dismissed by the Italian Constitutional Court. Countries like Denmark and the Netherlands are well advanced in implementing the TPD. We've had tons of petitions etc. Our only possible hope is actually Totally Wicked's legal challenge as they have very good lawyers whom they reward like kings,
But never mind, this is just to say: don't mention nicotine as a nuisance and the fact that many people vape 0 mg because they couldn't care less. And, in the end, you may end up paying a fortune for anything with any amount of nicotine (save products coming from the Big tobacco and the Big Pharma) just because it suits their purposes.
Most politicians work for the corporations and are not to be trusted.

Learn from what's been happening on the other side of the pond.

Sure

But who's marketing this to enough folks for the minimum signatures?

We have to realize this will have to be redone indefinitely until we have enough support. And that there's a very high likelyhood of accomplishing nothing by starting with this Avenue first.

I'm okay with that if you are.

I'll sign it regardless.

I will definitely need help getting the word out once this goes live. And I'm fully aware that it may not be successful, even if we get the required number of signatures. I think affecting congress is only half of the equation, if we can raise public awareness with our side of the story, it will be good. Every little bit right? I'm just tired of talking and reacting and want to do something proactive, and I appreciate any support I get.

Yeah... I don't think signatures are going to do it, either.

It's going to take faces and outrage in every state at local town halls, methinks.

But you have my support no matter what.

Ok, one more request, I need a photo or video to be the visual centerpiece. Suggestions? I'm thinking a photo of a nice friendly, possibly older vaper, and I'd need their permission to use the photo. Thoughts?

I like that idea, but what about one with a multigenerational look to it. 20 yr old woman vaping with her granddad? And a grandson/grammy one?

You will have the Help you asked for.

BTW - When you get the Draft done, and of Go Live, consider contacting this member, StefanDidak | E-Cigarette Forum

You might recall him from Last Years (and this years) CA proposed Legislation.

Thinking aloud here for a moment, so bear with me.

What if we take a copy of that petition (after Lessifer starts it/gets the wording all done) and we each send a copy to say our local newspapers... Letter to the Editor?

Something else...

I'm thinking there should be a section detailing what parts of the proposed regulations would be most harmful to the industry. I know we've discussed it before, does anyone have a link handy to the threads outlining it?

Don't make it Too Long. Or you run the Risk of TL,DR Syndrome.

If you can't fit it All on a 8.5 x 11 piece of Paper, it is Probably Too Long.

I'd be happy to facilitate that.

I have to admit though. I don't even know what the local paper here is.

I know there's the Washington post...

For most of the people who need to see it, two words is probably too long...

Yeah, I'm trying to keep the length down. I've already got a statement about it, anyone know of a site I can link to that spells it all out, does casaa have a page about the proposed regulations and their effects on the industry?

I Hear That. Most people's Attention Span is Less than 1 Page.

Better to just give them the Bullet Points. And then let Links or Foot Notes go into Granule Details.
