I am not a dentist, this is my experience only.

I have smoked and also vaped after a tooth extraction and not had an issue. I waited a couple of hours and made sure the socket had stopped bleeding enough to cause any visible blood in my mouth. I do stop bleeding quite quickly in general, but don't know how I compare to others in this regard. When I smoked/vaped afterwards I did so extremely gently, pulling very slowly. I was also careful not to disturb the socket with food, drink or toothbrush. This worked for me, but beware, YMMV.

The other side of the coin is there are other ways to get nic into us as people have already said. Nic from our juices passes through skin. There are also patches. Best of luck with it!
