Would you do a "chargeback" with your credit card company?

There is a vendor that I've done business with for almost a year now (off and on) when I can afford them because they are to expensive (probably the most expensive juice vendors out there but I'm not going to mention names.) Everytime I have ordered from them in the past there has always been issues yet I continued to order because they had some of my favorite juices out there. This last time around I ordered and the consistancy was just not there, the juice tasted nothing like it normaly tasted like (it was totally missing other flavors that were always present before) and when I brought it up to them they coped an attitude about it and basically told me to F off via E-Mail.

I've been really angry about how they have treated me and I've been thinking about call my cc company and doing a chargeback to them. Is this a bad thing to do in this community? Would they go all over the forums and trash my name or what? I understand taste is subjective but this has nothing to do with being subjective, this is about consistancy and constant other problems every time I have ordered-never experienced this from other juice vendors except for them. I can't afford to pay for stuff that is crap, especially at their prices.

I wanted to get some opinions before I decided on what I was going to do.

Thanks

Nope. You paid for product, product was received.

There are four classic rationales for a chargeback, the closest one is: "Quality: Consumer claims to have never received the goods as promised at the time of purchase."

You did receive the eliquid. Your not liking it (you have vaped it, in order to determine that you don't like it) is not the same as goods not provided, and taste is indeed subjective. No vendor that I have heard of releases their forumlas, or promises to not change the flavorings used.

Post a negative review, but don't do a chargeback.

No. When dealing with a small business, a chargeback is like the nuclear option. You can do some serious damage to them and as angry as you may be, it's probably not worth the damage you can do.

Merchant accounts are extra tough to come by in the e-cig world, especially good ones. Please be cautious about over reacting.

I think that posting the vendor name in the negative feedback section and see how they react id the way to go. I definitely wouldn't use them again, there are too many options out there to be stuck with one vendor. I understand that the juice was your favorite, but I don't think that the chargeback will hold as they can prove that you did indeed receive the order and that the order was for the purchased product which does indeed vape. The taste is subjective and will not hold unfortunately.

Sorry for the bad batch:(

Yea I won't do it, but I'm seriously ....... I kinda don't agree with Mark though on one subject...the juice should taste the same every time I order it (unless they have announced a change in recipe), there is no excuse for different tastes every time I order the same flavor. I dont have that from other vendors, that has nothing to do with taste being subjective, that has to do with being consistant, they are clearly not!

Also, chargebacks are very easy to do and go way beyond what was listed here. Buy with a credit card pretty much protects the buyer from just about anything, it's not like a debit card.

If you have some kind of buyer satisfaction program with your credit card, that is not the same as a classic technical chargeback.

For example, these are the Visa procedures: http://www.corporate.visa.com/pd/rules/pdf/visa-international-operating-regulations.pdf

I hear you on not liking an eliquid for consistency, flavor changes, that is why I suggested posting a negative review if the vendor had changed the mix and not tried to make good. A good vendor will be up front about changes in mixes, and will be consistent (other than if there is a forced flavoring change).

I wouldn't do it either. Why did you keep buying from them if you were having constant problems? To me, losing a customer speaks volumes....There are many juice vendors that have some great products here on ECF, but nothing is a constant in any product. Sometimes it's not even the vendor but their supplier. Hope you find what you're looking for & there's always DIY.

Well if I do a neg review it will start a flame war up, I'm sure of it.

Moish...I kept buying because the flavor was EXCELLENT, it wasn't the flavor that was the problem it was the mix ratio that was killing my atty's every 1 or two weeks...but the flavor was so crazy and worth it, that I just kinda kept doing it.

When I bought my latest refill, that's when the taste was totally different (after almost a year of buying the same flavor from them.) I asked them to make me a new bottle (heck I would have sent the one they sent me back so they could test it too) but they refused so I was done. Not gonna spend my money like that with someone who is gonna be all shady on a long term customer.

Know what...I do understand. I have one juice that I LOVE, not very crazy about the vendor tho. I'm making my own & adding theirs to it; I wish it wasn't great every time I get it. Whoever you've been dealing with sounds like someone who's in for a surprise with an attitude like that - I just know that "what goes around comes around" & get satisfaction from just sitting back & watching. I don't blame you for being po'd - sad when some people turn out to be jerks.

I just don't want to say who it is lol, I get into to much trouble on forums and I've had my fair share of infractions on here. Even though it's legit to post a neg review, with my luck it would turn nasty and I'd get into trouble. So I just feel safer sitting on it and moving on to someone else.

But my friend Karla on here knows:)

See this is what I have a problem with....customer loyalty. You say you've been buying from them for almost a year, and that's how they behave when you have a problem? That's complete BS...period, and I would appreciate a PM (I understand if you won't) so I can avoid them.

It just might not be the juice that changed but you. I used to love tasty vapor"s waffle. I vaped it for months. Then one day right in the middle of a bottle..the taste changed..it wasn't good any more..I know it wasn't the juice because I had been happily vaping that same juice for a few days! Ive read other stories like this..a friend of mine used to love tasty vapor banana cream pie..and then all of a sudden she lost her taste for it.

It can happen :(

Some vendors who have become successful become complacent and even arrogant. I think that providing a negative review is not merely vengeful, but can impact the quality of products we get as users. Remember also that vendors do get plenty of free publicity here on ECF, the least they can do is provide a quality product and good customer service which reflects their prices.

I had an issue with a vendor who denied changing his recipe. I was hesitant to post it because as everyone says taste is subjective and the vendor strongly denied changing it. After I finally did post - over 50 others said the same thing about the same juice. Everyone thought it but no one wanted to be the bad guy. I say post your negative review. Just my opinion.

I'm planning on posting my 1st negative review in a few days....what should I expect?

Only the vendor in question can post in your review thread, so if you do post it, nobody else can come in and flame you. Here is the sticky that explains that....http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reviews-suppliers-negative/144276-how-forum-works.html

I had a similar experience with a juice vendor myself. I had a legitimate concern and was blown off by the vendor, who thought I was being a PITA on purpose. I had to reply that I had ordered more than a few times from them, and even supported one of their charities with payment through their site...I basically had to prove that I was a loyal customer. Total BS! I replied politely, and let the whole thing go as far negative reviews, but I will not be a returning customer. Some of these juice vendors can be really uppity at times. In their defense, they do get a lot of people with bogus claims as well, so they develop a hair trigger temper.

I say avoid the charge back, and just post a negative review here on ECF.

My ....*h isn't w/a juice vendor - it's hardware. Their site claimed all orders received by a certain time shipped same day. I placed an order in the a.m. & kept looking for an email that said 'shipped'. Finally 2 days later, I emailed them & reminded them what they have stated on their site; also let them know if there was a problem I'd cancel the order & reorder at a later date (not), amazing, an hour later I received an email that it shipped w/tracking. Last time I checked it still wasn't received at USPS. I'm not a happy camper w/this vendor & I know that I'll NEVER purchase from them again.
