Would you say that vaping is now growing exponentially in popularity?

I first picked up an ecig in like 2009. It was a smoketip starter pack and it was such a thrill puffing on a "faux cigarette" for the first time.
Needless to say my mind was blown. I had been hearing about them since 2006 and finally decided to take a look at what they had to offer.
I still go back to cigarettes from time to time, but at the same time I've also gone months without... so I know what is possible with these incredible little gadgets.
Anyway, I live in the PNW and I rarely, rarely, rarely ever encounter other vapers in my daily travels. I run into 1,000 smokers before I run into just 1 vaper.
But lately I've noticed a pretttty big upswing in usage of vaporizers. Especially with the recent develop of oil vape pens for the potheads out west.

But it just seems it gets bigger and bigger every year. With all the word of mouth and people getting turned on to the possibilities when they do actually happen to run into a vaper in public, and see the device for themselves. Maybe talk about it with the vaper since you know were such a friendly bunch, right? Right.
It's all about exposing the people to the possibilities!
I know there's 10+ people out there who have picked up ecigs as a direct result of my influence on them. And there's probably 10+ more waiting down the line for each of the 10+ people to influence.
Sure some try it (disposables :( ) and then never return. But I think on the whole there's more people picking it up then there are people simple trying it out and putting it down. And perhaps there's more new vapers each year than the previous year... every year.
So is ecig usage on the exponential rise?

I was at the state fair the other day, and was quite surprised at how many people I saw vaping, and how few I saw smoking. I believe that they have new rules in place about only smoking in designated areas, even outdoors. But still, I was quite surprised to see so few people smoking. I probably saw only about a dozen.

But I also saw several people vaping. Until recently, I had only seen two people vaping. One was in the smoking area where I used to work, and another was a friend who had recently switched from smoking to vaping. I had never seen a total stranger vaping in public. Part of it was the fact that I wasn't really paying attention. As I've discovered, it's quite easy to stealth vape, which is one of the great advantages. So now, I'm more inclined to notice the stealth vapers. But in one day, I saw several people vaping.

I've also seen a number of small e-cig retailers pop up. Again, I'm paying more attention.

One big change is a recent increase in cigarette taxes. A pack of cigarettes is now about $7, as of the first of July. This was one of my incentives to try vaping, and I suspect it was the case for others as well.

The juice (and possibly the hardware--I'm not sure) also has a punitive tax in this state, but fortunately, it's a percentage of the wholesale cost, as I understand it. Therefore, a 10 ml bottle of juice, which I can get online for about $1.50, costs about $7 here. I'm going to start taking advantage of the online prices. But even if I don't, $7 for a ten day supply of nicotine is a lot better deal than $7 for a one day supply. Apparently, others have noticed this as well.

The two vapers I saw in the past were using box mods. Everyone I've seen in the last few days seems to be using an Ego-style. It does seem to be taking off exponentially. In fact, it's quite possible that there will be more vapers than smokers within the next few months.

IMO, its more than a fad and will grow in popularity at a rapid rate now. New vapor only shops are popping up quite often in my area now. A year ago they were merely a novelty at regular discount smoke shops and most were disposables. Now even regular smoke shops at least carry some juices, cheap quality clearos and a couple starter kits.

Also, every time i go into a vapor only shop its packed with people compared to even the most popular discount smoke shops in my area.
