The one thing that would scare me about this, is what if I had to send one of the ones I have, in for repair, what would I get back?

Shortly after the acquisition by one of BT's Big 3, the suits at the new parent company decided that the warranty, even though rarely used, was too much of a cost center, so they phased it out..
Those customers who purchased prior to a certain date were grandfathered in, to a degree, in which they could send in their busted PV, and the company would send to you, upon receipt of payment, a brand new one at a 10% discount...
