But at 6V :(

Dual Batteries? I think you are looking at this wrong. 80w does not bother me HE2's at all.
X cube looks to be Series - 8.4v peak, 7.4v nominal - so 6v is not really demanding.
I can pull 10-15 times in a row - HEAD RUSH!!!! - and the batteries don't even get warm.
Mod monitors amp draw and will fault out rather than damage a low charge battery.

Even the Cloupor mini - single cell - will recycle to indicate battery draw is to high and a recharge is needed.(NMKE 1500 sux)

Understood thanks for the great explanation. I was seeing most people talk about 28 gauge and while I knew it would be thicker with lower gauge (same as a needle) I didnt know what that meant for anything else so when I ordered I just got 28 gauge. I plan on taking it in to my local B and M when it arrives to have a little bit of a learning to build a coil. They are really good there and they actually teach a lot on vaping.
A good reference is Steam Engine. You can enter the wire gauge, the type of wire, the diameter of the coil, the number of wraps, and the leg length and it will automatically compute the resistance of the coil. The B&M that I go to generally charges customers to wind coils. Some customers don't want to bother learning to do coils themselves. However, since I spend so much money there, they have always done coils for me for free.
