I don't think it's a bad idea to avoid diacetyl but I also don't think the risk is nearly as great as what they are trying to imply.
Your graph, provided by a maker of E-Liquid, only shows Diacetyl. Diacetyl has largely been replaced by Acetyl Propyinol. If the graph represented AP instead of DA, that blue bar would be 10 times higher. Still far less, but again, we could have just cut BACK on smoking, right?
Additionally, the "750 times" article is another case of lies, damn lies, and statistics.It is based on "one cartridge per day" Cigalikes? REALLY? we are going to compare cigarettes to gas station cigalikes for comparing consumption? I must be lost, I thought I was on ECF. CLOUDS, Bro.
Even Farsalinos study, showing AP being 1/10 in eliquid vs cigarettes, was based on vaping 3ml a day. Everyone vaping 3ml or less a day, please raise your hands. And that number is going to get MUCH worse, as the trend in tanks and RDA's continues.
What is difficult to understand about Permanent. Debilitating. Irreversible. Unnecessary. Let's just keep on keeping on, and instead of ELIMINATING the cause of concern, debate the media on it instead while we battle uphill.

here is what I think..
All of this makes me SICK!!!
I know that a LOT of people are fighting for us, behind the scenes,
so please don't for one minute think that I am being critical to anyone
and how they are fighting this.
That said, I do see a lot of people fighting this good fight,
however, we NEED to do MORE. A lot of what is being done to fight this
is calling Reps, Signing Petitions, and writing to our politicians.
This is 2015, we need to FIGHT this like it is 2015.
WE need to Twitter Bomb the EU and American Politicians. NOT just once, but, over and OVER and OVER again... WE need to take to Social media like this is our last day on earth. WE need to do this in such a manner, as to make a HUGE splash, and one person can not do this. This needs
100's of people from around the globe, EVERY single HOUR, we need to Tweet and Facebook, etc.. etc.. KEY Figures in this fight.
My suggestion is Tweeting President Obama, EVERY hour.. If we got 100 people to Tweet him, EVERY hour for as long as possible.. then, he would see that there are a LOT of people who stand to lose a lot in this fight, same with The EU Parliament... also, the media outlets.... We need to Tweet and Facebook the heck out of them, so that they can NO LONGER ignore us.
WE need to organize this in such a way, that they get SICK of seeing our names on their Twitter page.
Then, I think we need to find some people who can travel to Brussels and we need to stand IN FRONT of EU Parliament and protest these new laws that are coming into effect in May 2016..
I don't mean ONE day either... I mean for DAYS... UNTIL they can NO longer ignore us.
We need to let them know, that these laws they are enacting around us, are HARMFUL.
Not much sense in trying to discuss something with someone who seemingly can't help but be condescending and who has obviously already made their mind up based on nothing but pseudoscience ...

You're completely missing my point. You're saying that the target the media, government, and tobacco is shooting at, isnot as big as they say it is. great. It doesn't MATTER that you are right. A target is a target. BIG money, vested interests, agendas. They will just pull out a bigger gun. A target is a target, and stupid silly when it doesn't even need to be there at all.
