Wow, tanks sure do rock.

I had forgotten that I had ordered a really cheap 6ml tank system from china but it showed up last night. Actually I didn't even know it was going to be a tank, I expected a big clearo.

It's kind of strange having nothing but o-rings holding it on, but otherwise it's incredible. It's 1.3-1.4ohms when I check it (dual coils?), so my lambo is probably really underdriving it, but tons of vapor anyway and the flavor is a lightyear beyond my vivi's and t2's. Why didn't I try this sooner?

One thing I do note, is that rather than narrow slots or tiny holes, this one has great gaping vertical slots, that wet a wadding inside. The way it's formed still allows a clear path for air down the center. Is this typical? I was under the impression that nothing but the atomizer was usually in the tube.

Jay, I actually did the opposite. I was using nothing but my Vivi nova mini tanks with my ego twists and my yj lava. But when I got my vmax, I couldn't use them without getting the burnt wick taste-even at the lowest setting. I was using a 2.4 ohm res head on the vivi...just could not get that burnt taste to go away. I have since tried using a 2.8 res head, and I can manage to get a decent vape with the higher res head on my vmax and provari. But I have just grown so comfortable with my carto tanks and I love those pre-punched single coil 3.0/3.2 ohm cartos. They hold more juice and perform great...and I love that "crackle" sound. With the vivi minis, I have to refill them constantly. They are juice hogs. But that is not necessarily a bad thing, because they are not leaking-they are wicking...great little tanks! I will probably switch back at some point, but for now, I am loving the carto tanks!

Carto tanks are nice, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to filling them though, thats why I like the tuff tanks and sidewinders. Vapedudes.com and valleyvape.com the thumbscrew design is great. Although I use RTA more I always keep a couple carto tanks around for emergencies

use xl cartos on standard size tanks then you can gently pry up the top cap and fill with any bottle easily.

Way more complicated than just removing the thumbscrew and refilling lol. I have a few tanks I do that with (pyrex ones) they never get used out of pure lazyness.

What's all this about these being hard to fill? Am I missing something? I just popped off the drip tip and top and dumped it right in the tank.

I like that the sound is so loud that I can feel it in my mouth. It's a little like pop rocks.
I wonder what it feels/sounds like when properly driven? There's no way that my cheap mod can handle it, and set on 3v, it's still more than enough vapor.

Being from china, I do wonder about its plastic, though.

Tanks leak, they mute the flavor and the carto filament often gets burnt. I prefer to drip.

These are universal issues with all automated feed systems. You may have a tank working ok now, but after awhile it will give you these problems. I'll still use them occasionally, but I generally don't and I generally drip.

Most tanks involve carto's and most carto's don't work good at all. That's almost every carto on the market anywhere that you can buy from anyone.

Most tank leaks are due to user error. I have several glass and polycarbonate tanks in rotation; leaking is not an issue with any of them.

I also disagree with your stance on cartos. For me, the taste and performance is much better than any clearomizer and much more convenient than dripping.

.....wrong on several points.

first off, tanks don't mostly involve cartos, tanks are merely a vessel, therefore a stardust with it's teensy little 1.5ml capacity still has a tank on it to hold that juice...as far as cartos not working well....you've probably been using the wrong ones....as several threads have pointed out in the past that there is a clear seperation in cartomizer quality between brands.

as for your arguments on tanks leaking: every single drip atomizer on the planet leaks. a tank will NOT leak if filled properly and all parts are in good working order (o-rings, etc.)

on carto filaments getting burned: the filament itself is bare (unjacketed) wire, and at the temperatures we're dealing with, literally impossible to burn, the "burn" flavor you get is from carto filler material, which only burns if you are running too much voltage or you haven't filled and primed the tank properly.

and of course the grand daddy of all the errors you made: on line one, the first thing you said was tanks mute the flavor......this is outright the most obnoxious thing i've heard anyone say ever.....even using cheap plastic tanks with an inert juice type, the tank itself will not do any muting of flavors, the shining example of which is the genesis atomizers...which are all metal and glass, which are inert to every juice type there is, and with that being said, the flavor is just as pure as a drip atomizer.
