Ok...so I just checked my checking account and the check I wrote to pay on my car last week and online the amount looked funny to me....so I opened the check view. They tacked me for a hundred bucks more than the check was written for. How does this happen...I wrote a check for 318.40 and they took 418.40 out of my account. Does three really look close enough to four or 3 to 4? Any bankers out there that could school me as to how this happens?

Like it's not bad enough that my old account is in limbo because my nephew tried to steal from me, but now the bank is trying to steal from my new account. UGH.:(8-o

About 7 months ago I had a medical bill for a grand total of 30.00 which I paid on the same day to the receptionist. This month (7 months later) I receive a bill for 30.00 stating that this bill was long past due. I called right away and a very disinterested party states ""oh ...well yes it was paid".
I had this strong feeling that there was a possible attempt at double dipping for people that may have forgotten they paid at the time of service. Wow, too much do to in life than look up old records and make phone calls and have to prove that you paid for something. 8-o
This may be somewhat off topic from the OP but I am thinking about all the time we have to spend backtracking and making sure everything adds up in the end.
